Perfect for a weekend chill out with friends to watch and hear a story. The building of the opera isn't that impressive from outside but inside it has beautiful stairs and the ceiling has a hundred goldened crystal arms chandelier . plus there's an interesting small museum with costumes from classic operas.

Romania made a lot of progress in many areas and culturally went from very good to extremely good. I was impressed by the artists and their work, especially given the lack of resources. Well done!

Beautiful building, half a century old, completely renewed. Good shows, opera and ballet. Unfortunately, children can assist only if they are 6 or older.

If you can find tickets ask for an opera show and certainly not for a ballet. If you can find only... More

An excellent place and an amazing building. It's worth seeing it from inside and outside, but also to stay for a play.

We arrived at the opera house on a day the orchestra was rehearsing so it wasn't open to the public. We went around to the side (right when facing enterance) and found a the staff door. For a very small fee a security guard allowed us in and walked us around the inside. His English was limited, but it was... More

When top price tickets are only 80 RON (about £16), it seems silly not to take the opportunity to go to the opera for the first time! We turned up just before the performance and bought tickets for a production of Tosca, which we really enjoyed. We didn’t really know what to expect so we looked up the synopsis online... More

This opera house was reminds me of old pictures of Bucharest before communism, how beautiful it was, much like Paris is now. A gem in a new world. Saw the marriage of Figaro here was nice.
