Herastrau is maybe the most important park in Bucharest. A complete walk around it's lake takes about 1 hour or much more if you take your time. You can go in short boat trips and have a lot of restaurants and terraces, some on the lake shore, and you can have a romantic dinner or just drinks.

Very big park, with plenty of playground for kids. Jogging around a lake (~6km) is also a nice opportunity.

I'm living close to Herastrau park and be sure that it is an excellent place for a resting, playing sports and hanging out. There are alot of places in summer especially to eating out and clubbing. Also, you can rent a boat to row on the Herastrau lake.

A green, relaxing place to be with family, exercise and just get away from the business of the city center. Pathways, gardens, playgrounds and places to eat in a relaxing park surrounding a lake.

Wonderful park with a range of great and quirky bars and restaurants dotted throughout. Hire a bike at the entrance (roughly £1 for an hour; need to show iD) and cycle around the giant lake and all over this huge park on the clearly-marked cycle-lanes. Clean, tidy, well laid-out. Good for kids, couples, single travellers...anybody really!

After visiting this park at –14 degrees during the winter, 6 months ago, we returned for a summertime visit. The park looks absolutely lovely, with a lot of green areas, lovely trees and flowers, gorgeous statues, a nice lake and even some peacocks to add to the fun. We visited during the weekend, so there were many locals strolling in... More
