I recommend the park in the summer, although it's perfectly nice in other seasons as well. I used to work near it and at lunch I would take long walks here. the nice thing is that you can see families of squirrels and ducks roaming around without a care as you walk by,

The biggest parc in Bucharest is a great place to spend a sunny saturday or sunday! With the big lake in the centre and excellent footways around it, it is ideal to have some leisure exercise. You can rent bikes for free and the route is also frequently used by runners who enjoy the 7km distance route around the lake.

This park makes you do that. Imagine a 7 km track that encompasses thousands of trees, lakes, tens of kids and adult play areas, cycling tracks. if you can live walking distance from it, you perhaps have arrived in your life!

Want to relax? Enjoy a leisurely stroll? This is your park. Quiet park with lots of nice trees and nature in the city. The park each time I've been here was well maintained. Nearby is the Outdoor Village Museum. In the summer, there are a lot of outdoor restaurants.

Had a nice and relaxing sunday in herestrau park when we arrived from Brasov. Together with friends we rented a 'waterbike' and peddled around the lake. Really relaxing to float around and relax in the sun. In the evening got to see a nice open air movie with beanbags. You can get food and drinks everywhere, but prices are high(er)... More

A good place to picnic out with children and not only there plambari pleasure boat or boats. Large area, cleaning and lush vegetation, and good for cycling trips.

This is my favorite place to run in Europe. Once on trail, can easily get in a solid 4+ mile run without any stops. Climbing stairs up to railroad track is only tricky part. Lots of people use the running/walking path so I found it very safe. There are also a number of seasonal restaurants along path to check out... More

Herastrau Park is the biggest park in Bucharest. I enjoyed many times walking and sitting for relaxing in this park. Location is very nice, easy to reach because is near to subway and other means of transportations like bus, or tram. Also is near to the biggest exibition centre in Bucharest, near to Village Museum. This park has a lake... More

Herastrau, although hard to pronounce it, is a very old relic of a very old forest that was in the past at the Bucharest outskirts. The lake with the same name is in fact a river which due to the fact that the city is very flat, is merely not flowing, but in fact it is, so the water is... More

This is the best park in Bucharest, and it is ended beautiful. It's a great place to spend some hours with kids, it's clean, well taken care, safe. And above all, beautiful. And you can enjoy a boat ride or a bicycle ride.
