This is an old city that has served as the capital of Wallachia, and later Romania since 1659. The tree-lined boulevards, well kept parks and mix of architectural styles that combine Neo-Classical 19th century structures with monumental 20th century edifices.

This tour is a good way to learn a brief overview of Romanian history, in particular the history of Bucharest and to see a bit of the city on foot. Our guide was very informative. No time is spent inside buildings, but several important places are pointed out that you can revisit on your own time. It is a good... More

Thank you Suzanne for the review. We can only agree with you that best would be to join the tour as fist thing you do in Bucharest. We run 2 tours a day for giving this opportunity to as many. Regards, Mihai More

My friend and I joined this walking tour on a wet and rainy day, but was surprised to see that Alex and his colleague continued the tour very well despite the crappy weather in Bucharest. We both really enjoyed the tour, esp love the effort of the tour guides (showing old photos of the city etc). Would definitely recommend this... More

Would recommend to do this tour on your first day so you can then explore the recommendations. All key sites visited or pointed to to explore later. Friendly tour guide. Would definitely recommend, will help get your bearings on the city and also provide you with great knowledge.

This was absolutely excellent walking tour. The guide, Mihael was extremely knowledgeable and fun. She worked really hard for the entire tour and managed a fairly sizeable group of probably 40 people very well. I went on the 18:00 tour, so we met when it was light, walked through dusk and the tour finished at dark. By then, it was... More

We took the free walking tour in Brasov and heard equally good reviews about Bucharest so we happily took the tour with Stephen. Bucharest free walking tour was 2.5 hours , longer than Brasov of course and a lot more people participated. They give you a good overview of the major attraction, with anecdotes and history with pictures to liven... More

I arrived in Bucharest on a Friday, thinking on what I should have done during my three days trip, I postpone this free walking tour because it rained, so that Sunday I finally decide to go and hoping that they were still at the Piata Unirii, and fortunately they were. I enjoyed very much this walking tour because the guides... More
