Zagreb is unique, a historic city between east and west of Europe, surrounded by mountains, it is possible to go every where in the city with a walking distance. From the historic high city to the modern down part of the city. Zagreb is 10!

Maksimir park is founded in 1787 and is grown into beautiful, well preserved almost-like forest park. Many trails and paths are ideal for walk and for bicycles. There are several lakes, with idylic landscapes. Unfortunately, there are only two places for coffee and refreshment, so, carry drink (and food) by yourself.

This is a beautifil park with many trails around Lakes and has a lot of Wildlife to enjoy. The day my group visited was May Day and there was a crowded left wing demonstration going on. It was more a Folk Day with Marching Bands, Traditional Bands and dancing. Loads of opportunity to try local Food & Beer. The park... More

I have been to a lot of city parks in my life but I am struggling to think of one I enjoyed more than this. Forested area, open spaces, lovely lake, cool playground, plus plenty of cheap eats and attractions for the children. Loved it - was in Zagreb 2 days and went 3 times with my 3 year old... More

I enjoyed a morning run in the wonderful park where locals go. The front of the park is more developped with a kid area, a zoo, nice pebble pathways and open terrain. The further northern part is wooden and has beautiful paths, amazing trees, lakes and sceneries. As a nature lover, this park was a highlight of my short Zagreb... More

Beautiful to get lost in. Hidden lakes, wandering paths, young lovers parked on benches. Refreshing. Try to find the horse stables, the many bridges over waterways and the caffes.

Maksimir Park is our first choice for a run. Several routes, and sights like towers, etc. Next to Zagreb Zoo. Lovely forest.

This is a lovely park, with ample space for walking or bike riding. Bikes can be rented very reasonably from the extremely friendly staff who operate from almost right in front of the entrance. The park is easily accessible by tram from the centre of town and takes about 20 minutes. It is right opposite the football stadium.. Entry to... More
