Scintillating tiled roof on this small but striking church in St Mark's Square in lovely Gradec. Do take a look inside ... cool, calm and gold leafed.

This church invites you to spend a time outside looking at details of its gorgeous mosaico in its roof which is a truly symbol of Croatia. The Square where it is located is very charming surrounding by government buildings. Unfortunately, the church was closed and we were not able to see it inside.

This is a handsome church in the centre of the upper town that was originally built in the Middle Ages. Due to earth quakes and other events its current appearance is largely a 19th century interpretation. It is however the main focal point of the are and sits magnificently in a large square beside the parliament. I wrote elusive because... More

Beautiful church in the Upper town. I love this church cause this is the place where I got married. Suggestion to the visitors: The whole scenery around makes this little church even more special; take a cable car and drive to the Upper town, walk around St. Catherine church and take picture behind the St:Catherine church (view of Zagreb cathedral... The nicest spot in Zagreb city centre. The inner is visitable for free, if it seems like it is closed try some of the lateral gates, even if they seem closed often they are not!

This church is so beautiful from the outside. I didn't go inside but I love the tiled roof on the outside. This area of town is worth checking out as well.

While visiting this lovely church, we were fortunate to attend an organ recital of Bach performed on the exquisite instrument by a splendid organist Pavao Masic. This was a truly memorable, breathtaking performance. We subsequently searched for the music store in order to purchase his CDs.

I've been to Zagreb three times, but I've never yet managed to see inside St Mark's. Never mind. The roof's unforgettable, and there's an astonishing old carved gothic porch, also seeable from outside, which would be at home much further north in Europe.

The church is marvellous and stunning from the outside especially the roof. Walking from Stone Gate, you will be amazed by the open space around the church. The church is one of the hi-light of the upper town wlking route. You shouldn't miss it!

If you find yourself in the upper town, then yes, I would visit St Mark's Church, even if it was to only see its colourful roof. If you only have a short time in the city then I don't think its something I would specifically plan to go and see (unless you are really into churches). For one it's not... More
