Had read about the museum on TA and decided to visit. Being Easter Monday, none of the other museums (or shops) were open in the city. Plus it was raining. When we entered the lady at the reception said that 30 minutes will be enough to go through the museum. After about a couple of hours (while still inside the... More

Museum is placed in upper town. There is no guide but you can read (croatina and english) or take headset. It's interesting reading life stories of unknown people but it's hard to read all the stories...It takes 2 hours for all stories! Take your student cars because with it you will get discount!

...it is in the end a museum of broken hearts, right? However, excellent atmosphere and on the beginning I was laughing (one of the exhibits is a big lumberjack AXE:) and with the story besides all these artefacts it is hard not to put yourself in those shoes...some are truly depressing offcourse. There is a cosy bar and they also... More

From the toaster (how will you toast your bread now) to the caterpillar with its legs torn off, the museum is a whimsical elegy of significant objects. I thought it might be a hurtful place, but it was a moving, poignant and often very funny reminder that we all love - and lose love.

Don't miss this quirky museum; I've never seen another like it! Some exhibits are very funny whereas others are emotional and meaningful. We really enjoyed sitting outside after our visit and discussing our favourite exhibits over a cold beer after too.

I wouldn't have bothered going had Lonely Planet not recommended it. SO glad I did. A really unique museum that started as a travelling exhibition but in now permanently in Zagreb. It's really well done and you will be able to relate to at least one of the stories. I started out thinking I'd pick out a few to read... More

This is a museum you really must visit. The museum is the home to items from past relationships, each has its own story, you can even take a donation if you wish!

We visited for a day in January 2014. The museum has various artifacts people have donated after they have broken up with somebody. Each artifact has a plaque stating what the item meant to them, why it was significant to their relationship and normally why the relationship ended. Overall, it was quite intriguing reading these stories and just experiencing what... More
