If you are in the neighborhood it is nice to visit. A bit run down, but still has the university charm. Full of cafes and bars too:)

This is the flagship university of Bulgaria, and attracts students from through Europe, Asia and Africa. The center of the university "The Rectorant" was built in 1881 and houses the center of Bulgaria. It is near the National Library, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Parliament and the city center. You are at the heart of the nation.

Pretty outside, but nothing spectacular. I suppose it stands out because of Sofia's overwhelming lack of beautiful buildings. I have never been inside.

The first university in Bulgaria, Kliment Ohridski is the pearl of Bulgarian academic life. The building dates back to 19-nth century and was built in three different stages following its academic development. The Central part is the oldest one that was built, and is the most beautiful of the three parts. In front of the main entrance the visitor can... More

You have to visit the Univeristy from the inside. There are beautiful long and vast hallways, big starways and impressive mozaique and enormous chandeliers. The University has also a small garden which is hidden from the street side, it's on the back side entrance. The stairs with the two statues in front of the main entrance is a famous meeting... I would give it a very good rating if it was not for the toilet. It was very dirty and there were no toilet papers nor soap. The building itself was great.
