The park in front of the building is very well maintained with wonderful fountain and usually a place where lots of young people, street musicians and chess players gather. The building of the theater is magnificent and there you can watch many great plays.

One of the most beautiful building in the city center. Nice park in front with many coffee shops. Good to sit and have a drink outside when the weather is good. To watch a play is necessary to have tickets in advance,as they finish quick.

Beautiful theater, however its usually closed and one just has to observe the theater from the outside, it's situated in a public square and it looked amazing especially on a sunny day.

Watch a play and then stay in the park or take a cold Bulgarian beer and your smile and go there in the evening when the weather is good. Best on September when everyone is back in Sofia after a seaside adventure. Have fun

In the city centre, easy to get to, watch out for people trying to sell you mobile phones. A bit of a park off the square where locals have lunch.

This is another building with a beautifully photogenic exterior. The fountains in front of the building actually work and have a pretty sculpture of a dancer in the water. I didn't visit the inside.

The Building of the Ivan Vazov National Theater is located to be adjacent to a very pretty park in Sofia, the Capital of Bulgaria, that has lots of fountains and lots of trees, which can guarantee the making-up of your day, no matter how tired or even exhausted you may be, before going there! A feeling of inner joy and... More

My review is only from the exterior as the theatre was closed when we visited. The architecture is stunning and a very impressive building indeed. Situated by a lovely well maintained park with a water feature just along from the grand entrance it's a place you can sit with an ice cream & enjoy the surroundings.
