The building's facade is ornately beautiful and stands out in the city's communist-classicist architectural style. Thelife story of Ivan Vazov is quite fantastic. The theatre is surrounded by a pleasant park. Just next to is is a beautiful fountain and a small street cafe. An enchanting place for a break in the city.

...while strolling around Sofia downtown. It is a nice building (but nothing special) with a great fountain in front, and a nice greenery around. It is in the very center of Sofia.

The beautiful building is surrounded with spacious park where you can have a sit on a bench or watch a chess game going on.

This place is located in the center of Sofia, a few minutes steps from San Nicholas church and the main cathedral. This is surrounded by a little park with a fountain, which is exactly in front of the theatre. The fountain has a contemporary statue of a female dancer in the middle, though, I want to stress, ballet is not... More

One of the best places to get quality pictures of your time in Sofia is at the National Theater. It has the beauty of old Eastern Europe.

This was absolutely breath taking at night and so was the atmosphere around it. It's also surrounded by some of the most beautiful (and expensive) late 19th/20th century residential buildings in Sofia. Definitely worth a visit in the day too.

Highly recommended a visit. The building is in excellent shape from outside - clean and all details are restored to pristine condition. I did not go inside - unfortunately I did not organize tickets for a show in advance. But the surrounding area is also very nice and the fountains are working.

I went twice during my last visit to Sofia. the theatre is well located, well maintained and not too big. you maybe seated at the balcony or down in the stalls, you have a perfect view of what is happening on stage. Compared to lots of theatres in Europe, the seats are very affordable: around 10€ for a nice seat.... More
