Incredible architecture but in need of some TLC. Interior very dark makes almost imposible to really appreciate the frescos. Photographs not allowed but easy to walk around it at your leisure. The biggest church in Bulgaria. Murals inside needed restoration the last time I was there because of the smoke from the candles the murals look darker. Yet a must see. Don't miss the crypt which houses a museum of old icons. Entrance fee for the crypt only.

Practicaly in the city center, church Alexander Nevski lies on big plateau and looks like someone drop it off from space. Easy to find and worht a visit it represents maybe the most popular sight of Bulgarian capital.
