Helps orienate first-time visitors to the city.

As above. Would take too long to go into the history of the gadge but, once you know where he is, everything else falls into place.

Located in the middle of the park, surrounded by a number of major attraction. You won't miss it if you are in the heart of Tirana

Well-known tourist attractions of the city is Skanderbeg Square. The main town square, which is named after the famous Albanian hero. Skanderbeg monument made of bronze is located at the center of the square.

I walk by the statue/square often. Much improved since 2008, now with grass and more park-like. Problem is, no way to get to statue except by walking on grass after climbing over a short wall. Should be more accessible to statue while maintaining the green space. Typical poor planning and realizing how public will act. They want to be up... More

You have to get a pic of yourself with the statue and a huge Albanian Flag in the background. Just beware of younger kids who might offer to take a photo with your cellphone and then run off with it while you are posing!

With all of the street decorations, trees and buildings that are lit up this Christmas, Skanderbeg is in the dark. He could have been lit up with red lighting like the two headed eagle.

this is just a square with a statue in it but it is clean, and taken care of. across from the museum so you can't miss it.

Not bad, but rather an inner monument withing clean but poorly planned sqare - Generally quite provincial. You can't miss it if in Tirana (as you can hardly find what to do), but surely not to strive a glimpse.

A beautiful monument, but based on the pictures I had previously seen, I had assumed that the area around the statue was paved, allowing one to walk right up to the statue, but instead, there is grass and a low wall surrounding it. There is a path worn into the grass from people jumping the wall to cross the square... More
