Many reviewers have already pointed out that several of the photos refer to the National History Musuem and not this archaeology museum. We enjoyed our brief visit to this interesting museum which although it has few pieces of information in English will fascinate any of you interested in archaeology. It is well worth a visit and has a wide range... More

A well laid out museum with some interesting artifacts. A great introduction to the history of Albania. It is conveniently located and accessible with some important finds that are well displayed. We went with a guide and that certainly helped bring the museum to life. Highly recommended.

Like other people have written, there is very little English in this museum, which is a real shame. Overall, I personally found this museum fascinating and extremely moving, even though I don't speak Albanian. I had read a lot of Albanian history before I went there, and I speak Italian, so I could have a chat with a couple of... More

This museum was disappointing as the most interesting rooms lacked English translations. The Communist pavilion had many interesting exhibits, but no translation.

It was very interesting to see the exhibits but ninety percent of it was in Albanian so without a guide who speaks your language... Worthwhile to visit anyway to get a feel for the history.

Not only important to visit if you are just interested in Albanian History. It's more about understanding the way of living in Albania, which you can just understand if you know about the turbulent History. Apart from this, just in my opinion the very recent History upstairs is illustrated very bloody but tangible. If you go there with children, perhaps... More

When I went some of the floors were shut for renovation so only saw floor 1&2. Good overview of Albania through the ages, particularly regarding 20th century struggles I concur with a previous reviewer who said it needs a greater number of English translations. A pamphlet explaining the various exhibits would be good. Also arrows showing the best path to... More

Literally, beside the monuments that has to be old, the sorrounding is very 'cheap'. The modern museum has to have the sound that explain the history fact or table of information. All you can see there is the tiny, little and blury notes. But, facts are ok. Elements also.
