After a 7 day sailing trip around Tonga we (four couples) had a couple of days layover in Fiji before returning to the states. Decided to do the Mud Pool Tour just for fun. After arriving we all put on our swim suites and covered our entire body with thick mud. Yes even our faces got a good dose of... More

Just savour the Fijian experience - cover yourself in mud, dry off then rinse off in a hot pool. Great way to spend a few hours. We had a Fijian massage afterwards with coconut oil - well worth the FD45 I think. Cold showers and very basic facilities don't detract from this place's quaintness. A few stalls selling Fijian trinkets... More

Had a half day tour that took us to the Nadi Temple, local market, Garden of the Sleeping Giant and the hot spring and mud pool. The mud pools were an awesome experience and heaps of fun. The bus driver and tour guide from Valentine Tours were great. Highly recommended.

The cyclone has damaged the trees on the site. The site is run down (as is most if the main island) and in need of sprucing up.$10FJD to just have a look or $20 FJD to cover yourself in mud, stand in sun to dry the wade into hot spring to rinse mud off. Two other small hot spring pools... More

We had a short layover in Fiji and decided to have an unusual experience with the Sabeto mud baths. We went to the gardens of the sleeping giant and just continued down the road for 10 or 15 minutes until we got to hot springs that were well marked. We had just landed so we had to dig our swim... Located about 1 kilometre along a potholed dirt road from the Land of the Sleeping Giant gardens. Don't expect anything grand but a good experience all the same. Start by applying warm local mud from a bucket then wait about 20 minutes for it to dry. First rinse off in a warm, dirty, reed filled pond then walk to a... More

Sure, there is a 72 degrees Celsius hot springs, and sure there is a mud pool/mud bath, and sure there is a hot tub that feeds from the springs. And certainly the staff is very nice. But pouring mud all over myself and sitting in a hot tub is just not that big of a deal. Could have skipped it.

I went to the Sabeto Mud Baths and Hot Springs last week and it was so worth it! It was such a great experience and so much fun. A 15 year old Fijian boy named Ibrahim assisted us in the pools, took photos for us and made the experience memorable! He was so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely do this... More

All in all, a great day! I recommend it for a unique adventure. Only downside was when the guy kept instigating a tip by telling us how hard his job was. It became forced and uncomfortable. I'd still go back though!
