The 4 stars are for the building, which is gorgeous and very well restored. The gaucho collection didn't interest me very much and I would give it 2.5 stars. Pretty dull, the most impressive thing is the building itself. It was empty so we had it to ourselves.

I loved the building! Fabulous marble staircase that was once part of a grand house. Groucho material was interesting, money section was closed.

The building it self is impresive with the beautifull staircases, tapestry, high decorated ceilings, doors, etc. on the first floor there's a art display an upstairs an excelent colection of gaucho knifes, bolasos, horse sadles, pictures and much more. We tought this was one of the better things to see in Montevideo. Don't miss
