We had reserved our tour in advance, as it would be a port call for our ship, and had been communicating with Alberto, who turned out to be our guide for the tour. We were confused by where the website said to meet, and were looking for an actual square, or large plaza, when it turned out to be just... More

What a great walking tour of Montevideo! Just what we where looking for! Alberto helped us to see and understand all that was possible about Montevideo in a couple of hours! We learned a lot about the history and culture of Montevideo and Uruguay. We loved the old town area! Wish we'd known more about parking our car before we... More

I found this walking tour to be average, since Alberto, the guide (who is a very nice person by the way), did not seem very excited about it, spoke with a low tone voice and kept forgetting to tell the dates of historic events. Besides that there was not much context to the explanations, which were a little brief.

My husband and I joined Alberto for a walking tour of the old city in March. Alberto, a knowledgeable guide who speaks great English, did a fine job of sharing information about the history and architecture of this old port city. We felt his fee was very reasonable considering the time he took with us.

If you are in Montevideo, make this tour a must. Alberto took us to parts of the city that we (independent, experienced travellers) trying to do it ourselves, simply would not have compared. The history and folklore surrounding the city you would never properly experience from a book - so if you are keen to learn more about this fascinating... More

My husband and I booked this tour for our port stop in Montevideo. The ship docks right downtown and the ship provides a walking map, but the tour with Alberto made it much better than it would have been on our own. The city is beautiful, a lovely surprise. We enjoyed hearing about the history and culture of the city,... More

We had pre-booked this tour with Alphonso from Cuidad Veija walking tours based on the feedback from other Tripadvisor customers and we were not disappointed. Alphonso was full of good information, had a very personable style and stayed with us well beyond the 3 hour time limit so we could enjoy a wine tatsing opportunity at a localtion he knew... More

We really enjoyed the tour with Alberto. He was very knowledgeable. He came to Uruguay from New York and really adopted the city . He spent a lot of time with us, taking us to many different parts of the city, stopping with us while we had lunch and a wine flight , and explaining the history of the city... More

Alberto really knows his adopted city. He was more than able to answer our questions about Uruguayan history, customs and quirks. The afternoon felt like hanging out with a friend.

We had a three-hour walking tour with Alberto. He is very knowledgeable and speaks perfect English (born in NYC). He showed up early and did not rush us. Definitely would recommend.
