Alberto was a most informative and enjoyable guide. We covered the old city in depth and really obtained a good understanding of the history and architecture of old Montevideo. We highly recommend it. More

We arrived for the 10am Friday tour a little late since we were coming from Pocitos via bus. Alberto was waiting for us by the city gates, holding his mate and welcoming us. The tour was comprehensive. Since we were the only two with him on the tour he was able to go in-depth with his explanations and tailor the... More

I went to visit my mother who has retired to Montevideo. I met Alberto at a social gathering, and a week later we decided to meet up, have a beer, whatever...We ended up in Penarol (WAY off the beaten-path), and it was simply a delight. The entire experience from my front door, out and back again brought a whole new... More

It was a great tour for our group from NY, Alberto is a terrific guide, that helped us to flavor the local traditions, sounds and sights. Since our tour was customized, we had the opportunity to enjoy a drink called Yerba Mate, a custom that we wanted to experience. We visited a few galleries, met with the local artists and... More

Alberto was patiently waiting for us as we exited the secure pier area. He led us on a 3 hour walking tour of the city, relating the history and promise of Montivideo. We stopped in a lovely sidewalk cafe for a much needed rest and a cup of good coffee. We literally walked from one side of the city to... More

No one else showed up, so I was the only one on the tour. The tour guide, Alberto, knew a lot about the city, and had an answer for all of my questions about the specifics of the history of Montevideo. He speaks English and Spanish fluently. The tour covered many different parts of Ciudad Vieja and included both modern... More

We opted for the paid tour which Alberto customized to our interests. We weren't dragged into anything just for a sale and it was so comprehensive that we felt sure enough of ourselves to make a second visit on our own. More

Tour guide Alberto Rodriguez, who hails from New York, and, therefore, speaks fluent English, planted himself in Montevideo a couple years ago. Montevideo is a city that he feels passionate about and loves to show off to people. His tour of the old city takes you up to the old city wall and includes a fascinating history of how it... More

This walk around the city is must for anyone who want to know about the good locations in the city. Don't forget to ask anything you want about the city, I am sure Alberto will be glad to... More

I live in Montevideo, and have for a couple of years. I loved walking through Ciudad Vieja and looking at all the gorgeous old buildings but I wasn't sure (other than a few obvious ones like the old post office) exactly what I was looking at. A friend and I took the tour one afternoon and were really pleased with... More
