We were in Montevideo for the day on a cruise. Ryan picked my husband and me up, along with another couple from the ship at the port. We have taken wine tours all over the world and this was one of the best! Ryan is very knowledgeable and the wineries we visited were so interesting. It was a super day... More

I was looking for wine tastings in Uruguay so via "googling", I stumbled across "The Wine Experience". I immediately emailed Ryan with a barrage of questions. And although I was unable to partake in a wine tour with this company, Ryan was responsive, professional, and INCREDIBLY HELPFUL. If I was able to work a tour into my visit here, I... More

We booked our wine experience with Ryan months before our cruise. We were to meet and start at 9:30 but fates prevailed. Our ship was late and we docked at noon. Ryan was able to rearrange his schedule and we had a great wine experience in the time available and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner that evening that we had... More

Have visited many wineries in the U.S. and been on several wine tours around the world. The experience Ryan gave us in Montevideo was absolutely wonderful! It was intimate (just our 2 couples in the group) and personal. Ryan was an absolute joy. He was filled with knowledge and enthusiasm about the local wineries, the wine industry, you name it.... We arranged a full day tour with Ryan out of Punta del Este. The four of us had a tour of the city and countryside on our way to Alto de La Ballina winery. We toured the vineyard's with the owner followed by a tasting of their wines accompanied by local cheeses and toasts. The people and views were great... More

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of touring with Ryan twice. Once from Montevideo and then another when we stayed in Jose Ignacio. Both were incredible. From Montevideo we toured two boutique wineries. At the first, Pizzorno, we were toured through the vineyards with the wine maker and then tasted with the owner, Carlos. This was truly a... More

the only downside of this tour is that it has to end. Ryan was a great guide, very easy to communicate with and even e-mailed me some pictures he had made during the day. The best part of this experience is that you get to sit & drink with the owners or oenologists of the wineries, which is different from... More

Ryan took us to Pizzorno Winery- This was hands down the best wine tour/tasting we have ever had. This is a 3rd generation winery with the grandson of the founder now running the business and his 20-year old son following in his footsteps. This winery makes eight verities of wine totaling only 140,000 bottles and only grapes from their vineyard... More

Although we enjoyed Ryan Hamilton at Punta del Este, we took his advice about a restaurant in Montevideo, Uruguay, the next day. We enjoyed Palenque in the city square very much. After a self-guided walking tour of the city square and local shops, we found the restaurant. We enjoyed a local drink called medio y medio (half and half) which... More

Ryan is an amazing tour guide. He took us to two extremely different wineries, we got to see two extremely different wineries, one being very small and one much larger. Both wineries made a huge effort to make us feel at home, and it was great to see the contrast between these two different types of wineries. Not to mention,... More
