Ryan offers a personal, not a packaged, tour. This was the highlight of our trip to Uruguay. We visited two distinct wineries and sampled 8 or 9 wines. Amid good conversation and conviviality, it felt more like a visit than an organized tour. Highly recommended.

If you have a chance to take this tour, DO!. Contact Ryan well in advance, as this is not a bus tour, but rather a very small group (ours was four people), and you will be visiting wineries that have special character. Ryan knows his wine, his wineries, and the winemakers, and his knowledge added immeasurably to our excursion. One... More

Had the opportunity of going on a wine tour with Ryan. Had a great time, the wine tasting was amazing, he drove us to two wineries and both were different, but are a must. He is really putting the Uruguayan wine on the map, and got me hooked.

We spend 4 days in Montevideo and went on the Wine Experience tour with Ryan Hamilton. We visited 2 small bodegas, Stagnari and Pizzorno. It felt like a private visit, walking through the vineyards, meeting the owners and in an idilic atmosphere tasting wines. Ryan knows his stuff. We had an amazing day finishing off in El Palenque restaurant in... More

We had a great few hours with Ryan on our visit to two different wineries. We were picked up from outside the Port on time and driven to the first winery where we were able to have a good look around with lots of explanations of what we were looking at. We then sampled some excellent wines and local cheese... More

Our day with Ryan visiting wineries outside of Montevideo was beyond expectation. My wife and I live in Lodi, CA wine country. Our family grows grapes and we have many friends in the industry. One of them grows Tannat, the signature wine grape of Uruguay. We decided to use our time in Montevideo to learn more about the grape and... More

We hooked up with Ryan, having read the stellar reviews on Tripadvisor. He met us and one other couple just outside the main gate to the port of Montevideo. He was charming and a font of information about his own intriguing life and wine production in Chile. We visited two modest-sized wineries outside of the city. Both were nice experiences... More

We learned a lot about Uruguayan wine which was new for us. Tannat was amazing and loved our tour guide, Ryan. Ryan was knowledgeable and passionate about everything. He took pictures throughout to ensure we never forgot our experience. The other people in the tour were lovely as were the people at the winery. We definitely want to go back... More

We booked two tours with the wine experience and could not have been happier. The first took us to the beach town of Jose Ignacio where we experienced incredible wines In a unique setting watching what has to be one of the world's finest sunsets. Our only regret of this tour is that we had to leave. The second tour... More
