Following our scary experience in the Titicaca Lake (when we came back from the Taquile Island we had very wavy lake due to a windy afternoon), I needed some time to persuade my wife to have this rafting (the beginner degree of course...), oh boy, we were so happy that I convinced her... Absolutely loved this day trip to the river rafts. Spent the morning on the coach and zip lining whilst the afternoon was on the river for just over 2 hours. Wetsuits were provided and a homemade meal was ready on arrival after the rafting. The sceanary was epic. First part of rafting was for people to get use to the... More

We river rafted via a Condor Travel tour. It was a 2 hour rafting trip with lunch at the end. The first hour was very calm and we used that time to get to know our guide, practice, prepare for the rapids, and take in the beautiful views. Our guide was great and well prepared to make sure we would... More

I have never done this before, but felt very safe with a fantastic guide that made the experience so much fun. This excursion was booked in the city of Cusco. They 3 to 4 rapids and it lasted a couple of hours. We even got out of our rafts and had a running game that warmed us up since the... More

AS part of an Adventures by Disney tour in Peru, we spent a few hours river rafting in the Sacred River of the Sacred Valley. The rapids were mostly 1 and 2, but there were a few 3's mixed in near the end of the trip. The water was really cold though

Took a tour with bikeandadventure.com through the Sacred Valley with my girlfriend, including a rafting trip down the Urubamba River. Fantastic experience. Private tour that was suprisingly affordable, with outgoing, knowledgable English speaking guides. Guide inflated the raft higher up in the river to minimize chance of getting sick and floated through Incan ruins for 1.5 hours. Highly recommend Enrique... More

This was my first time rafting, I was nervous because I get sea sick but had no issues. The water was cold, but the wetsuit did it's job. Very picturesque with ruins throughout the hillsides. The time of year we were there (early Oct) there wasn't a lot of current and it was very casual rafting, although we did get... More

The rafting experience itself is quite enjoyable, but I've been living in Ollantaytambo for the past year and recently begun renting a house on the river. A little investigation into the plumbing system in my house revealed that my toilet dumps all its waste directly into the Patacancha river, which itself feeds directly into the Urubamba river. Not only that,... More

I was a pretty nervous but it was definitely thrilling! I don't have much experience with river rafting. The guides seem to know what they were doing. We did a three day trip. I ended up with giardia that I think I got from the swallowing too much river water, but it could have been from a different Peru trip,... More

We (two adults and three children aged 10,11 and 14) went for a day's rafting on the Urubamba river with Amazonas Explorer (www.amazonas-explorer.com) a Cusco based company. We had a really exciting day out which ended with a picnic at the riverside. We thought that the safety briefings were really careful, clear and thorough and we felt very safe (important... More
