One of the best things I've ever done in my life. We went with a company called Peru Treks, completely based in Cuzco. It was pricey -almost US$500- but well worth it. It included transport from and back to Cuzco, porters -many of them!- a chef and an assistant, 2 guides, access to Machu Picchu, a guided tour around the... More

One of our best experiences of South America was the Inca Trail and it is absolutely vital you select the right tour operator. We went with Bamba Experience and their service was first class. The cook Jorge was unbelievably good and more often than not better than most of the restaurants we ate at in Cuzco! The porters were friendly... More

hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is a fantastic experience. The hike is tough even for fit people but beautiful and worth the time and effort. We went with Quechas Expeditions, the owner Wistman was a pleasure to work with - professional, kind, responsive. Prices are very good, porters were great, cook was excellent and Percy are guide was... More

Truly amazing-everything & more than we had hoped for. Scenery was breathtaking. Really enjoyed the continual movement of the clouds over Machu Pichu, The Inca's were an amazing race. Very hard to comprehend how they could build such a wonderful & intriguing 'city' in the mountains.

My 60th birthday present from my husband was our trek to Machu Picchu on the Inca Trail. It's an absolutely demanding and extraordinary experience. We hired Trek Peru and were the only 2 in our group, so we had the undivided attnetion of our wonderful guide, Admil and 3 porters. We were also blessed with perfect weather - not a... More

Actually, we went to Peru September 2010. First, our plan was to do only the Inca Trail with SAS Travel Peru, but since we wanted to see the Nazca lines and they had this tour, we made both reservations with them. When we arrived in Cuzco, we didn't found a tour agency to do the City Tour and the Sacred... More

We did the 1 day mini-Inca Trail trek on Oct 31st. It was physically grueling for us even after being at altitude for a week. The walk to the Sun Gate took 6 hours (with breaks at the two ruins (Chachabamba and Winay Wayna). There were way more stairs both up and down than I had anticipated, but every step... More
