This is a safe and tranquil neightbourhood outside Lima you can visit during a week day or better during weekend for a relaxing time with a great view of the sea and sound of waves. It is a great place to spend the day strolling down the pier next to the pebble stone beach, very relaxing walk. While at La... More

This was one of my favorite places in Lima. You can get a great view of the sea and the sound of the waves crashing with the pebble stones on the beach is just SOOO relaxing!..

Safe, tranquil neighbourhood - great place to spend the day strolling, reading a book, relaxing. Easily reachable by bus or collectivo from anywhere along Javier prado/ sanchez carrion. Just look for one that says "la punta" on the side and get out at the last stop (1.20 soles - 50 cents). Though it is next to a dangerous area (callao)... More

La Punta is a small beach town, has a beautiful church, small main plaza, schools, restaurants, malecon, stoney beach - Cantolao (colder than other beaches in Lima) nice atmosphere and ambiance and safe, Naval Academy and Regattas Club are here too. It is good to visit during the day if you go by bus.

Nice walk by the beach in a stylish early 20th century resort. Can take a boat to sail around the bay, go swimming or just see the sunset.

La Punta (the point) is a peninsula overlooking two islands with many boats and ships. I was invited to eat at a restaurant situated on a pier. Incredible sea food! Be careful with the rocoto sauce! Hot!!! It's a summer place for many people. The navy academy is located there. It's a narrow strip of land with beautiful homes and... More
