We had a long layover in Lima at the end of our Peru vacation. We wanted to see the highlights of Lima in one day. Peruvian friend was a great way to do this. Mariela was our tour guide. She picked us up at the hotel on-time. There was a set itinerary, but we could change it as we liked.... More

We had a 10 hour layover in Lima on our way back to the US from Cusco, and having never been there before, we decided to book Peruvian Local Friend to show us around the city. Mariela was our guide and Luis drove us around all day. They were waiting at the airport when we arrived, and whisked us off... More

Peruvian Local Friends customized a personal tour for us, since we were touring some of the historic center with our tour group a few days later. It was the perfect tour with the perfect tour guide. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable, and was always looking after our needs. Also, there was a driver, as well as our guide, so... More

My wife, her sister, and myself had a day in Lima before a weeklong tour on the Amazon River. We decided to use Peruvian Local Friend to take a day tour of Lima. Our guide and "local friend" Eliana was wonderful, and gave us an in-depth tour of the city through the eyes of a native. She spoke very good... More

This was the first thing we did on our first full day in Lima. It turned out to be the best way to get an introduction to the city so we knew where to go later. Our tour was an afternoon walking tour with cab rides to Barranca, the Central City and then to Miraflores. Our guide was valuable in... More

I had many things I wanted to see during my 1.5 day stay in Lima. I provided a list to Peruvian Local Friend and we worked out a schedule that fit all our needs. Like many people, we only had a day or so in Lima, so we wanted a private experience that would give us a more personal view of Lima rather than an impersonal large hop on/hop off bus, and Peruvian Local Friend ended up being the perfect tour for us. Rodrigo was our guide and he was already waiting at our... More

Dear Peruvian Friends Tours,

I'm writing to see if your company has a guide who could help my husband and me explore historic sites and museums in the city of Lima on Sunday, January 18, Monday, January 19, with an option of Tuesday, January 20. I am a travel writer with an assignment on the Peruivan Amazon, and I will also be writing an article on must see places for travelers who are landing in Lima for a short time before going on river trips.

We have been looking at guidebooks of Lima, and think it would be a good idea to have walking tours of the Plaza Mayor area, perhaps on Sunday morning as people are coming and going from the Cathedral; the Miraflores Area (the Malecon and the artists’ markets at Parque Kennedy, plus art galleries); and the Barranca area (Pedro de Osma Museum),

There are a number of additional sites that sound fascinating, for instance the Larco Museum, the Church of San Francisco and the catacombs, Huaca Pucllana, and the Magic Water Circuit. If you would like, we can send you our entire list.

Can you advise me of your rates, and also recommend ways for us to tour the city with a combination of walks and car rides. We are also interested in your ideas for experiencing the everyday life of local residents.

Our hotel for the five days will be the Tierra Viva Miraflores Larco:

- Address: 180 Bolivar Street, Miraflores - Lima

- Phone number: + 51 (1) 6371003.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Emilie
