These tour guides aren't just educated guides, they love Peru and sharing its history, culture and people. Truly and inspiring experience being introduced to Peruvian culture, landscape and people through this tour. Haku maintains close relations with low income areas and gives back to them in order to show you the full spectrum of what it means to be Peruvian.... More

They gave us an amazing tour of Lima and especially the shanty towns on the outskirts of town. An excellent opportunity to really engage with the city and its inhabitants in a unique fashion. The tour guides were helpful, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of our questions and provide a local context and flavor that was unexpected and unique.... More

We did an afternoon tour with Jimmy. We were expecting a small group, but it ended up being a private tour for the two of us! Jimmy was very knowledgeable about the city, and offered great advice about where else to visit and eat on our trip! Haku is a non-profit whose revenues go towards helping rebuild the shantytowns. We... More

Everything about Haku Tours was amazing. I booked a tour for 25 MIT faculty and students on the Lima Reality tour where we saw the shanty towns and the historic downtown in Lima. First of all, the tour guides are extremely knowledgeable about Peru and have strong connections with the local community. Second, the mission of the organization is real... More

Our group went on a tour with Haku last weekend. They were absolutely fantastic. My guide - Edwin - knew everything about the city and the tour of the shanty-towns were very personal and intimate. I've been on numerous global tours of lower-income areas around the world and by far this was the best. There was no upsell from the... More

My wife and I were in Lima for a combination business/holiday and had learned from YouTube of the very early pre-Incan ruins at Caral, the earliest centre of civilization in the Americas. We booked a tour to Caral with Haku Tours because of its consistently excellent reviews and its non-profit corporate policy of assisting Lima's shanty town dwellers. It turned... More

I took part in the full-day Lima Total as well as the half-day Trendy Barranco tour. I was fortunate to have Jimmy as my guide for the City of Kings portion of tour, and Edwin for the Panoramic Tour. Both guides were thoughtful, friendly, and professional. Jimmy's enthusiasm for art and history is obvious, and was keen to share his... More

So glad we found this tour operator on Trip Advisor. Our group of six did the budget walking tour with Jose. Lots of good, interesting information and an excellent guide. We really liked the small group and giving back to the communities concept.

My wife and I booked 2 separate tours for the same day with Haku Tours as we only had a day to spare in Lima. The first was the Nature Trek Tour which was for the morning and the afternoon/evening was the Fantastic Lima Tour. Whilst we did not expect it, these both were private tours and were excellent. Our... More

You will receive a 5 star tour by a local guide, who was raised in the Shanytown area. Co-owner Edwin, met us at the cruise port to begin the tour. He explained that we would visit a very large Inca community. He said that the Incas do not call their land Peru, but rather, "Inca Land". He also explained that... More
