I liked the very well maintained old buildings and museums. The place is clean and people very friendly.

Our tour bus passed by the historic center of Lima Plaza Dos de Mayo, I thought I was seeing things, eight identical blue buildings surrounding the plaza. There is a monument in the middle - to commemorate the Battle of Callao which occurred on May 2, 1866. That's why it's called “The May 2nd Square” It's nice to know a... More

The buildings and landscaping around the centre is beautiful and very South American. The art work and architecture is remarkable and very worth the visit.

I did the one day walking tour found in the guide book from our hotel. The historic center is very very loud, all the drivers honk instead of using their turn signals. But the cathedrals and the sights are so so worth it. Favorites? St Francis Cathedral (former monastery with the catacombs) and the inquisition museum.

Lima look after your heritage and do not destroy any mor historic buildings for apartments PLEASE These buildings are a good reason to visit and stay and Second Home B&B is a fine example!

A pleasant country full of history, offering a variety of drinks and cuisines. The chaotic population is jolly and friendly. Lima's "hermosa" with a fantastic landscape and temperature.

I was a little tired of exploring historical centres is South America and was going to give Lima's a miss, but I am really glad I didn't. For me, it was definitely one of the top colonial centres and really impressive, especially Plaza San Martin and the beautiful white stonework everywhere. It looked like it was gleaming in the sun... Spent a full day in Lima..10-10 which was a half a day too long. The city seemed hot, dirty and uninteresting. The cathedral was ok as was the main square but there was nothing much to see or nice places to walk around. Miraflores was nice and the mall was a fine place to have a meal and walk around... More

We had a short but very nice guided tour to the historic centre which is well worth a visit. Would have liked more time but what we did see/visit was lovely.

A mixture of wealth of a past and lower middle classes just arrising from poverty, fortunatelly. I was in LIma many times about twenty some years ago and poverty was all over. Recent public policies have included many a person in a surging lower middle class. But the center of LIma is still somewaht in need of maintenance, just as... More
