Some people might tell you that Lima is underwhelming and not worth seeing and that you should head straight to Cucso or Huaraz. But that is not the truth. There is so much to see, so much culture to inhale and nice people to meet. We are from Denmark and we were greeted by many with a "Welcome to Peru!"... More

It is not so dangerous how people say, and worth the visit. Is like any center of a ancient big city in Latin America: the colonial meet the neoclassical, business meet museums, decadence meet the old glamour. You can't be all loose and, of course, you have to pay attention, but is not so dangerous as people say. You have... More

Beautiful but don't bring a backpack, purse, or expensive camera. The bad guys are waiting for you. We were lucky to have a guide that is a friend of our nephew. We were warned about cab drivers that could rob you and leave you somewhere.

Nearly 500 years of history before your eyes everywhere! I'm pleased by the view of several wooden balconies

this area got lots of old buildings, if you like old buildings, you need to see it, otherwise, just skip it.

Loved the square with all the fantastic old buildings. We had a tour guide that filled us in on everything. It was winter and misty, but can't help the weather. Walked around to many places and glad we did, because we did not know this part of Lima existed. No floral though.

We stayed in Miraflores, and our trip to the historic centre showed us a completely different side of Lima! The area is absolutely lovely - very European feeling. There are quite a few touristy markets and stalls around, but food seems to be a bit cheaper here.

The buildings and atmosphere around Plaza Mayor was nice, but not spectacular. Otherwise I was busy keeping an eye on my camera and other personal belongings. When looking at the buildings in the streets leading to Plaza Mayor, I felt that many of them need attention, renovation or even restauration. It is a pity to see that the charm of... More

This is typical of what you will find in major Spanish influenced city's in the world, well the one's I've seen anyway. it is well maintained and worth a visit as part of a city tour. We spent 4 hours in the CBD looking at local attractions like churches, government buildings and the market I agree with other reviewers who... More

The downtown Historic Centre of Lima is beautiful. It didn't use to be that well kept years ago. Downtown Historic Lima is now well kept, illuminated at night, and has many sites that are now been improved for the benefit of tourism. Definitely take an organized TOUR to this part of Lima, otherwise you might get lost and go to... More
