When in Lima, don't miss the historic centre as there is the life! Plenty of museums and places where you can spend a lot of time contemplating the beautiful houses and balconies

The changing of the guard is not enjoyable at all. It happens behind the wrought iron fences, not worth the time. The music is lovely... Most of the buildings are scaffolded. It was a letdown for me. Take the open top bus, will offer more than what you can cover on foot.

The good thing about the Historic Centre of Lima is defenitely the location, because you can go to others different places such as the Monsatery of Santo Domingo, the Bar Cordano, Union Street and more ... Just go and have a look, yo will like it! but it is much better in summer time (the peruvian one ;)

I really have to be honest here, the historic centre of Lima is just the best in South America! It is clean and well taken care of, and the beauty of the Government Palace is just inspiring. The wonderful colonial cathedral, with its beatiful facade will catch your attention even if you are not a catholic. The main square is... More

The bus was a great way to see the sights. Some of the architecture in Lima is not to me missed. I thought the stock exchange building was gorgeous.

The Historic Center of Lima is definitely worth your time. The Cathedral and Monastery was beautiful. We saw the changing of the guards at the President's residence, where he works and lives. The traffic in the downtown area is as congested as the rest of the city, but it is a definite must.

The catacombs are worth a visit and the area of Barranco. It is not all that great a city, but spending a day at the center, walking around is pleasant.

Visiting the old center and the surroundings made me remember the history of South America conquer and the Spanish Empire in S.America. It reminded me of many other old city centers I have visited. It worth a morning walk. The market there is good. Also the catacombs were a special and maybe shocking experience. For lunch we headed back to... More

Great architecture but run down and just not what it could be. Too bad as you can see that it should be one of the best historic centers in the Americas

The centre of Lima is a must see experience. The Government Palace and many other historical buildings are an impressive architectural collection at the city centre. A very safe place to walk during the day (but I would avoid walking it at night). My favorite time to see it is on a Sunday afternoon when many Peruvian families are in... More
