It´s a journey in which the traveller will have a full day of unforgettable experiences between the mystical Andean mountains and the most exclusive luxury that a train can offer. The two dining cars, its bar car with observatory, its kitchen car; the welcoming with sparkling wine and its traditional dancing show are only few of the reasons that converted it in everything that it means today. « less

We rode the Hiram Bingham from Rio Sagrado to the Machupicchu and we enjoyed it so much. They serve lunch on the way to Machupicchu and dinner on their way back, drinks included at the lounge or served at your table. The funniest thing is that they play live music in one of the cars that is totally panoramic, so... More

I loved riding the Hiram Bingham (formerly Orient Express) - It made the trip go so much faster. two passenger cabins coupled with two bar cabins and a viewing area at the back of the train. Live music, and a surprisingly good meal. It was nice having a Pisco sour, while enjoying the scenery and listening to a trio performing... More

Came back from MP on the HIram Bingham (we went up on the Vistadome) What a fun ride. Sure it is expensive but they make the most of your time with cocktails in the lounge, a great band playing everything from classic Gypsy Kings to the latest in Latin pop, followed by a good dinner with wine and dessert. Attentive... More

We took the Hiram Bingham between Urubamba and Aguas Calientes as part of a Celebrity Cruise excursion. The train ride just added to the great trip. The train ride just added to the experience. The cabins are beautiful and very elegant. The service and style of the entire experience was amazing. The brunch was delicious as was the dinner on... More

We took the Hiram Bingham between Urubamba and Aguas Calientes. After we booked the Hiram Bingham package (separate review for the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge) we were informed that during rainy season the train between Cusco and Aguas Calientes was "bimodal" - which means that you have to take a bus or car from Cusco to the Rio Sagrado hotel... We took the Vistadome up to Machu Picchu and the Hiram Bingham on the return. Two very different experiences and two very different prices. That being said we loved the Hiram Bingham. The train is beautiful and extremely comfortable with a fantastic staff. The bar car was the place to be and there was much fun music, singing, dancing, drinking... More

Took the HB both ways and highly recommend the trip to Machu Picchu as an 'experience' albeit a bit loud. Would consider the Vistadome for the return trip to Cusco.

This train is a brilliant way to see Machu Picchu. The only downside if you are doing this from Cusco is the 1.5 hour bus trip to and from the actual departure station of the train. Having said that, the guide was very helpful throughout and they explain some interesting facts about the local area on the way. The food... More
