My wife and I along with another couple took the SA Luxury Expeditions - 6 day Machu Picchu, Inca Trail package in late May of 2014. May is a good time to visit Machu Picchu because the rainy season has ended by that time. During our stay in Peru, we experienced great weather, warm days with cool nights. We were... More

This was definitely impressive and would suggest this to all that are healthy and in good physical condition. There are numerous things to see and best with a good guide to explain all the different building and their meanings. There are extra hiking adventurers available which should also be experienced. Must go

It was beautiful and well maintained however after speaking with several workers and seeing the conditions they lived in after the floods had taken out their homes I can only imagine where the money from many tourists goes.. I do not think they are investing in their workers or... More

only way to describe the feeling was I understand how close they felt to God in this place. But the bus ride up and down is the star if you are an adrenaline junkie. I went during what is called the rainy season, had a great day, and the mountains were so green.

There are only superlatives to describe Machu Pichu. I had wanted to visit it since college and it did not disappoint. The ruins are extensive and you can easily spend a few days walking through them. For the best views of the ruins, climb to the Guardhouse on the southwestern side of the ruins (on the way to the Inca... More

The weather was perfect for us as we arrived about 1pm and left at 4pm with intermittent sun, shower and clouds. Try your best to time your visit early, mid-day or late to get the best weather possible.

We took the Vistadome from Cusco up to Aguas Callientes (about 3 hrs), where we spent the night. In arrive in Aguas Callientes we purchased our bus ticket as well as Macchu Picchu entrance fee from the main square for the next day. The next morning we were on a 6am bus to Macchu Picchu (about 15-20minute bus ride). In... More

This was a great adventure. We spent around 6 hours exploring every nook and cranny of this world wonder. We decided to take the bus because of early morning downpours. It was amazing.

We took the train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu, Pueblo and then the bus up to Machu Picchu itself and the whole experience was beyond our expectations. We did have a good guide the first day which was nice for explanations and the best overview. We hiked to the sungate along the Inca Trail and the view from there was... More
