When you are in Cusco you will spend most of your time in the plaza or around the plaza. In fact, besides all the historical sites outside of town there really is no reason to go anywhere else. The only negative is the constant street vendors and they don't take no for an answer. The best tact is to just... More

I came here on my last night in Cusco, before starting my journey back to Seattle. It was a perfect evening. The Plaza is a great place for a stroll anytime of the day (though it gets chilly at night - think mountain climate). There are quite a few restaurants and the lights on the cathedrals are magnificent at night.... More

Beatiful Plaza, everything around is so colonial ,you like to explore - but when it comes to the Church (es) that surround the Plaza ; be prepared to be kicked out if you are NOT there prefered christian, they did exactly that to us when we tried to enter either one of the 2 churches that surround the plaza. No... More

Wonderful plaza, with a statue (I think it is Atahualpa) in the center. It is amazing to walk around and think of the history and the fall of the greatest empire the New World ever saw. Stores with all manner of goods ring the square, along with many restaurants offering typical food. Want to try roasted guinea pig or grilled... More

This city is a very charming and charismatic city. Plaza de Armas is the main square of the city, surrounded with good restaurants and shops. Try to get a hotel within a walking distance to this area. It is a very safe and fun area.

It's a cute plaza that has shops, cafes, restaurants, dominated by a big centuries old cathedral. Great place to hang out.

Although it is a very good place to visit, the atmosphere was too touristic. You can exchange money, however, you should be careful not to get counterfeit. When I exchange 50 USD to peruvian Sol, one of three peruvian 50 sol bills was counterfeit

This square is the heart of Cusco and a must visit. It is surrounded by lovely restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. There were lots of celebrations while we were there so there was always something going on in the square.
