Tip .The children & people who dress in the local costumes with animals expect to be tipped if you take their photos. So if there are 2... More

First day in Cusco, I was in Plaza de Armas and I didn't understand all the movement. Turns out every Sunday morning there is a typical flag celebration with the army. Nice to see.

The Plaza - day or night, is always hopping with some activity. There are shops and restaurants galore, as well as the Cathedral, Basilica and a few galleries for local art. When here four years ago, we were treated to the Festival of San Christobal, which included religious statuary filling the cathedral, and the most unnerving, but spectacular display of... More

Must visit for all tourists. Close to all hotels and restaurants. Half the city can be viewed from the center. We took a walking tour using Lonely planet.

I went to Cusco in june, a month full of attractions in this plaza, which is the core of the city. Every day there was a different attraction, fulfilled with local culture. The population in Peru, at least in the Andes region, is very attached to the ancient culture, and it gives a special meaning in the events. There are... More

If you go the last week of may you can see a parade of Santos(wooden saints carried by 20 to 40 people). It is an incredible festival.

Quaint plaza surrounded by lots of shops and restaurants. Great place to sit and people watch. On Sunday, we got to witness the President of Cusco and the military perform. Quite entertaining.
