I came to Cusco for a week to do a home-stay and begin learning Quechua before traveling to Arequipa for the semester. Amigos offers Spanish and Quechua lessons and home-stays with laundry and boarding included. My home-stay family has been wonderful, and Amigos has been very responsive in responding to my questions. I think going in a busier time (march,... More

Amigos is the best place to learn Spanish. I arrived to be welcomed by Jesus, the Director and spent the next four hours engaged in an interesting, exciting and innovative learning process. My Spanish was very basic but Jesus made me feel confident and inspired to try more. Far from what I would call traditional teaching, Jesus had prepared many... More

I had a great time setting up our classes with Jesus and he was very helpful. Our teacher Jossie was very patient with me and we covered lots of material. The family that we stayed with was very welcoming and helpful in helping us to learn Spanish beyond the classroom. I also liked that the school was started and is... More

Last year I studied for four weeks, 20 hours a week, at Amigos. The school is a a real recommendation! The teacher, Sandra, was excellent and lovely, and the classes included a good balance of grammar and conversation. The small classes and the great atmosphere gave me lots of inspiration and courage to really learn the language. The school is... More

I studied at amigos in nov 2011. I chose them because the teaching seemed to be of good quality and their social programmes to help disadvantaged young people were of significant benefit to the local community. It certainly wasn't the cheapest school but as i was lucky to be travelling I wanted to give something back while studying. The classes... More

Amigos has all the things you can expect from a Spanish School. The difference is that it also offers opportunities the meet Cusco's locals. Don't be surprised if you are invited to go out for a drink or to join the staffs birthday-parties. On a regular base they can also take you to festivals or to non-touristic parts of town,... More

My husband and I took a trip around Latin America for 9 months and our main objective was to become more proficient in Spanish. So we experienced A LOT of different types of Spanish schools (Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, Bolivia) and Amigos was by far the most best program of the bunch (run by a local Peruvian). Prior choosing Amigos, we... More

Amigos is just perfect because you have good classes with teachers really caring for your needs, small groups that help to progress faster and to have a good contact too. And more than this, it's amazing people, always happy to teach, the school is full of laughs from mornings to evenings! As well the school is in a good location,... More

During the summer of July-August 2011, I traveled to Cusco intent on improving my Spanish skills and was more than satisfied with my experience at Amigos. I myself am a teacher to students learning a second language, and it didn’t take me long to realize how talented and skillful the teachers were. Not only were they really good at clarifying... More

My time at Amigos was great. There is a real community there, and aside from the focused, individualized instruction, the faculty and students were amazingly friendly and open. If it weren't for my experience, I would never have gotten to know the real Cusco, nor would I have been in the least prepared for my further adventures in South America!... More
