My wife and I did an overnight tour to Machu Picchu with Apus Peru this summer, and it was fantastic. Our guide William was very knowledgable, but more than that he was a very friendly and personable guy, and also very accommodating — it was a pleasure hanging out with him on this trip. Logistically, Apus has it down to... More

Our first visit to Peru and our trek with Apus Peru was the highlight! All of our time in Peru was wonderful...the people are warm, friendly and helpful...the scenery breathtaking...the culture is fascinating but our trek gave us the unique opportunity to more personally interact with people, see the scenery up close and learn first hand about the culture. We... More

Returned recently from the wonderful 5 day Full Lares trek organized by Apus Peru for my nine year old son and I. Apus organized everything from A to Z in a professional and friendly manner. From our intiial phone conversations and trip planning with Matt at the office, to our knowleageable, encouraging and flexible guide, Urbano, we felt safe, comfortable... More

We did a private two-day tour with Apus Peru to the sacred valley and Machu Picchu, and then did the 5 day Ausangate group trek. We were thrilled with how amazing our tours were. Our Machu Picchu guide William was super knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. I can't say enough about how helpful he was and how much he added to... More

A stunning, very well-run trek around the Ausangate massif east of Cusco. From the planning stages to the trek itself, Apus Peru was very professional and easy to work with (Emily was great). Our guide on the trek, Urbano, had a wonderful sense of humor and was very deft in accomodating the variety of personalities in our group (cobbled together... More

Apus Peru describes this trek as "a combination the best of all treks" and indeed it was simply stunning - from extremely rugged high mountain trekking to roaring rivers, and lesser known ruins that were as special as Machu Picchu and the famous Inca Trail. Truly, pass less traveled by tourists! From "Trekkers Wanted", three hikers joined us and we... More

We had the pleasure of going on a 12-day trek (Choquequirao-Salkantay-Inca Trail) with Apus in early June. They exceeded all our expectations! Our guid Joel was incredibly knowledgeable about the region. His passion for the mountains and sharing Quechuan history was contagious. He was superb at balancing the different fitness abilities of our group and making sure everyone got through... More

I just returned from the 5 day Salkantay trek and was very pleased with the entire experience from the decision making process during the pre trek briefing to the drop off at the end of the trek. Our guide William was very attentive and responsive to the preferences of our small (3 person) group. Apus Peru delivered from start to... More

We did the 2 day Inca trail hike and also had Apus arrange several other things for us. I usually do all of our trip planning, so this was very unusual for me to have to depend on others to follow through on many arrangements for our trip. I dealt with Emily and she was fantastic. She is from the... More

I just returned from a 5 day Lares Valley trek with a 2 days extension to Machu Picchu with Apus Peru. My 7 friends, aged 40-60, and I enjoy trekking "off the beaten path" and had chosen this trek to experience rural Peru and the Andean culture with fewer crowds than the classic Inca Trail. This trek really delivered both... More
