My friend and I took the 4-5 day trek to Choquequirao. It wasn't easy, but the scenery was breathtaking and when we (the two of us, our guide, and the lead arreador) reached Choquequirao about 11:00 am the grand total of all the people at the whole site was: 4. Wow! It was really amazing. The Apus team took great... More

In late October of this year, my husband and I (both in the cusp of turning 50) took on the challenge of the Choquequirao to Machu picchu 9 day trek. I had read that the Inka trail and Macchu Picchu had become far too popular. Choquequirao on the other hand is relatively quiet because it is a brutal 2 day... More

I have been on several treks around the world, and Peru was by far one of the best. I booked the 5 Day trek with a few friends in September 2014 with Apu's Peru. I can genuinely say that from start to finish we received an excellent service. I can highly recommend booking a trip with Apu’s Peru! A big... More

I signed up a group of 6 friends to Apu's Peru (which I chose due to it being listed as a recommend trekking company by Lonely Planet), and left the other 6 available spaces open for the public to join - we were joined by 4 other Americans, who were lovely and great fun! - doing so brought down our... Thirty years ago I hiked the classic Inca Trail; it was spectacular and uncrowded. Last summer we decided to do it again with my wife and three teenage children. After careful consideration we concluded that an alternative trek to Machu Picchu would be significantly less crowded, at least as beautiful and possibly more interesting. We started researching the various treks... More

Solid company and experience if you're looking for alternative treks in Peru… off the beaten path to remote, wild and unbelievable places. I didn't want to do the traditional inca trail because of the crowds. Apus Peru recommended this trek and we didn't see a single tourist. Passed through high Andean villages with great culture and views. First class service,... More

My wife and I did an overnight tour to Machu Picchu with Apus Peru this summer, and it was fantastic. Our guide William was very knowledgable, but more than that he was a very friendly and personable guy, and also very accommodating — it was a pleasure hanging out with him on this trip. Logistically, Apus has it down to... More

Our first visit to Peru and our trek with Apus Peru was the highlight! All of our time in Peru was wonderful...the people are warm, friendly and helpful...the scenery breathtaking...the culture is fascinating but our trek gave us the unique opportunity to more personally interact with people, see the scenery up close and learn first hand about the culture. We... More
