Apus Peru specializes in sustainable, unique experiences in the Andean region. We explore places no one else goes! Treks depart on demand, or with groups listed on our website. Routes feature Ausangate, Ancascocha and Choquequirao, and our cultural treks combine attractions such as Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail and Salkantay with seldom-visited ruins, remote indigenous communities, festivals and more. Amazon trekking and tours in the Sacred Valley and Cusco are available, along with adventure activities.

Apus Peru were a pleasure to deal with. Matt was very responsive - we had LOTS of questions before we booked. It's expensive, but we travelled with 2 kids (10 and 11 years) and this was to be our most adventurous trip as a family. He answered all our questions clearly and in a very timely fashion. The 4D3N Lares... More

I cannot say enough about Apus Peru and our guide, Greco. The organisation was brilliant. They kept us well informed, safe, well fed and motivated. Greco has a brilliant grasp on local history and can answer all your questions about the Inca ruins and the history behind them. We were a group of 6 hikers with mixed abilities and we... More

Three of us did this difficult but thrilling trek. Apus Peru was a wonderful organization to work with. They may cost a bit more, but it is money well spent. They clearly treat all the staff with respect and are trying to help local people make a decent living. They tailor each trek to you and don't stick to a... More

A group of 4 of completed a 13 day personalized route that was a combination of Machu Picchu, the 5 day Choquequiro and 7 day Vilcambamba treks. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience, and we could not have done it without Apus Peru. First, the office staff (especially Emily!) were wonderful in helping to plan the trek and discussing everything... More

We did the uncommon 5D4N Ancascocha via Salkantay trek and the only thing I am confused about is why it is uncommon.. Breathtaking views, quietness, a chance to really connect with the mountains (the Apus) and its spirit (the condor) and your inner self during heart pumping climbs and freezing cold nights. Warning, it is challenging and not suited to... More

Our Apus Peru trek was amazing! We spent two days trekking with our guide between Cusco and Ollantaytambo, and we didn't see any other tourists on the trail. It was an amazing experience that we will both remember for the rest of our lives. Matt in Cusco was so helpful and timely, communicating with us, and made us feel confident... More

Apus Peru was amazing from beginning to end. I began my research for the prefect company a year in advance. Starting with the top 5 companies. Apus was the winner hands down. We are 40-78 age group. Very fit and ready to rock the trail:)) I'm a backpacking, camper and seasoned international traveler. I was the coordinator for our group... More

Absolutely fantastic experience. Urbano and Marabelle were outstanding, caring and took great care of our 11 person group. The porters were amazing and local knowledge of ruins we encountered was very impressive. We worked with Emily of Apus on logistics and again, amazing service. One of our group lost her passport in Ollantaytambo and Emily went out of her way... More

When we arrived in Lima on the way to Cusco we were warned by an email from this group that a strike had been called blocking our way to our hotel in the Sacred Valley. Gave us time to call the hotels and make alternative arrangements, rather than arriving the next morning in Cusco with no way to get to... More

The trek was great, everything we had anticipated. The scenery, especially in early May, is spectacular. All connections were made on time and the drivers were very good. William our guide, was knowledgeable and very personable. The food was great. The cook, Remigio prepared separate vegan and non-vegetarian meals This is not a crowded trek. We saw about 20 trekkers... More
