Apus Peru specializes in sustainable, unique experiences in the Andean region. We explore places no one else goes! Treks depart on demand, or with groups listed on our website. Routes feature Ausangate, Ancascocha and Choquequirao, and our cultural treks combine attractions such as Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail and Salkantay with seldom-visited ruins, remote indigenous communities, festivals and more. Amazon trekking and tours in the Sacred Valley and Cusco are available, along with adventure activities.

My boyfriend and I went with Apus on their Choquequirao-Vilcabamba 8 day trek. We wanted to do something a bit more adventurous than the trampled Inca Trail. It's a tough route but has lots of rewards: watching the sunset over the Choquequirao ruins, possible condor sightings and the Vitcos ruins. Best of all, we were able to explore both sites... More

We did Machu Picchu full day tour with this local agency. Our tour guide was very professional, patient, funny and knowledge. We spent a nice time, even If the full day tour was pretty tired.

Booked a 5 day Salkantay trek with Apus Peru for my wife and myself. Scheduling and planning was great with Matt Waugh who even offered to Skype to discuss details. Everything was explained in detail and expectations clearly set. During the trek Jose was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and he went out of his way to ensure that... More

This was my 2nd trip with Apus Peru- the first one in 2013 was the Ausangate 6 day 7 nights with my parents and a larger group. The guides and team were amazing and extremely knowledgeable about the area and the food was incredible (including ceviche on the last day!). Fast forward 2 years and me girlfriend and I went... I got a recommendation to book the Salkantay + Inka trail through Apus Peru and I am very happy that I took it. Everything worked well (food and camp), except shower (OK, do not expect to take shower: YOU ARE IN A TRAIL AND SLLEPING IN TENTS IN CAMP SITES). Willian was my guide and he was very kind and... We planned our trip to Peru with Apus and were not dissappointed. Apus is based in Cusco but do tours throught Peru and adjoining countries. We were a group of 14, and planned a custom trip with Apus which included day tours in Lima, Cusco, 7 day Trek and 3 days in the Amazon. We spend a year or so... More

This review is long overdue as we toured with Apus Peru in November 2014 and had a wonderful time. We signed up for its "pre-acclimation tour," a 4-day tour into the Sacred Valley and back to Cusco and then the 2-day short trek to Machu Picchu. We wanted to see and do more than a day trip permits in the... More

Loved this tour company. I set everything up on line and they were very good at keeping me in the loop about our paperwork for our trip. I felt very comfortable that they were honest and trustworthy. I like the fact that they are a smaller company and we could pick our own dates for travel and they organized a... More

We went for a private trip (2 people) with Apus Peru to Salkhantay. The trek lasted 5 days and 4 nights and Machu Picchu was the final destination. It was not cheap but really worth the price: our guide (Urbano) was friendly and spoke fluently English. He had a very good knowledge of local fauna and flora, local culture, history,... More

We recently trekked with Apus Peru on a 5-day alternative Inca trek. The experience was excellent. I chose Apus Peru after considerable research on the options for trekking groups, with particular attention to its conscientiousness for the environmental, animal welfare and human welfare of the trek support staff, and conservation of historical artifacts and spaces. I was more pleased than... More
