Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

This was definitely one of the highlights of our Peru trip, especially for our son! The whole journey between Cusco and Puno is about 10.5 hours; but you do not even realize that in the Andean Explorer. The Andean Explorer checks all the boxes for a wonderful train - the carriages are elegant, with comfortable seating and tables covered with... More

I took this train from Cusco to Puno. It's first class all the way. Great food, drinks and entertainment. Would recommend as the only way to make this journey.

We left Puno on the leisurely 'Andean Explorer' train, a luxury train co-owned by Peru-Rail and apparently the Orient Express. After handing in the luggage, we boarded the train, not quite knowing what to expect. The journey took 10.5 hours at a maximum speed of 40km/h, and it didn't seem to drag at all, with comfy chairs, white tablecloth-covered tables,... More

We made the trip from Puno to Cusco with the kids and though it was going to be a bit hard for them considering the 10 hours but we really enjoyed the comfortable carriage, the open deck bar at the rear, the live music, the excellent cuisine, great service on board, dances, stunning view from the lake, puna, snow mountains,... The carriages are divine as you would expect once you discover that PeruRail run this with help from the same company that runs the Orient Express. The journey is on one of he highest altitude set of tracks following a river line for long distances up into the peaks and mists. Ten hours from Cusco up to Lake Titicaca is... More

We traveled on Perurail Andean Explorer from Puno to Cosco and thought it was a wonderful trip through the country side, definitely recommend this trip, excellent service, folkloric entertainment and fabulous scenery. All that said save your money and get a cheaper rate on another train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu. Service is very average, a lot of... More

I recommend this trip for the opportunity to see a different side of Peru. The train meandering through the country side shows you the primitive agricultural methods, the beautiful nature, and a closeup of village life. Board the train in Puno and arrive in Cusco 10 hours later. Staff on the train was very well trained. Baggage is stored and... More

This rail trip was expensive but worth it. We did the cheaper ($164 US) from Puno to Cusco trip. Agreed with the comments from others - lots of entertainment, great sights, luxury travel. Rather than read a heap of crap I have summarised some main tip below: 1. The literature states that you need to check in and get your... More

This was a most enjoyable adventure. The train was beautiful. The food was excellent. The staff were polite, attentive and very professional. They provided live entertainment with cultural music and dancing. Also a less on how to make a Pisco Sour in the beautiful bar car. The observation car at the back of the train was so nice to watch... More
