Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

I can only say that you have to experience this rail journey in your lifetime! We were met at boarding by a smiling lady steward and then taken to our seats. I was spellbound by the sheer luxury of the carriage, it was the Peruvian model of the Orient Express, and something I was not expecting. I knew we were... More

Like some others, I was daunted by 10 hours on a train with 3 children. But the Andean Explorer is a joy if you take a book, a pack of cards and put yourself into the right gear. The website gives you a pretty decent idea of what to expect. I would only add that: - They give you a... More

We took Andean Explorer between Puno and Cusco. It's so much fun that the 10 hours or so just flew by, but it’s a little expensive. The trip includes food, drink and fun; there is an observation car; as the journey continues through a catalogue of different terrains. Staffs were the top class, Rosita lady hostess was great! She was... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the Andean Explorer. Pamela and Jhojhan were awesome servers who met our every need. The luxury of this trip is unparalleled at least in our opinion. We really liked the décor, entertainment, meal and the open air car off of the bar car. The stop at the Andean Continental Divide was worth it. We... More

If you are travelling from Puno to Cusco then I would say this would be the way to do it. The railway is very efficiently organised and you are entertained and fed on board. It's quite a long journey (probably even longer by bus) but you can relax and enjoy the scenery. If you are anxious to see the musicians... More

From start to finish, our experience with the Andean Explorer was first rate. At Cusco station, there is a dedicated lounge and toilets. Once on board, the decor, furnishings, service and attention to detail are spot on. The food is good, and they really look after children as well, with a separate kids menu. The bar is a great place... More

The train itself is lovely decorated in the traditional "Orient Express" style. The service was good with plenty of entertainment to keep you busy over the ten hour journey to Puno from Cusco. We chose this as a means to see more of the Andes...unbeknownst to us the ten hour ride was completely flat and boring..My suggestion would be to... More

Just got back from an epic, almost life changing trip to Peru during which my three children (20, 16 and 14), my wife and I experienced trekking over the Inca trail to Macchu Pichu. The 45+ km trail is demanding but very rewarding. What better than to sit comfortably on a luxurious train for an entire day after such a... More

This was one of my highlights of our travels across Peru. We travelled from Puno to Cusco. Beautiful train, luxurious inside, very ornate with delicate light fittings and tables laid up with lovely white linen tablecloths. You are shown to your specific table which, is yours for the duration of the trip. You also have access to a lovely bar... More
