Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

Who would have thought that 10 hours on a train could go so fast - watching the countryside from your seat, the bar or the viewing carriage at the back. Eating and drinking - coffee, lunch and afternoon tea - not to mention the lesson in making Pisco Sours. Watch the fashion show or the live music. Or just sit... More

We took the train from Puno to Cusco and enjoyed every moment of it. The style and service was a refreshing contrast to the other options for travel in the Puno region. The food service was really great in terms of quality, freshness and presentation, and the refreshments just kept coming. The on board entertainment has been carefully thought out... More

We agree with the previous comments about the length of the trip. For the first few hours it was great. Brilliant scenery, excellent service and a great atmosphere. However, when you travel from Cuzco to Puno the really interesting scenery is in the first half and the second stage drags a bit. Going through Juliaca was crazy....make sure you are... More

You don't take this train purely for transportation purposes. You can fly in a fraction of the time it takes. The landscape you pass through though is very impressive, and the train experience lovely and make the 10 hours pass quite quickly. The only downside we experienced was that something they served us for lunch (I think it was the... More

It was a nice experience for about 5-6 hours. but 10-11 hours for 400 km is just too much. I couldn't get it out of my mind that the train was deliberately going slow to prolong the trip. It was very expensive per kilometer of travel. The train was comfortable and the staff seemed attentive and we got to see... More

We took the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco and we were completely satisfied with this wonderful 10-hour journey. The service was excellent and we enjoyed very much the outside platform of the last car. The landscape during the trip is so beautiful. The 10 hours past really quickly. We bought a backpacker ticket (169 US Dollar) and I was... More

Our Andean Explorer experience harked back to the golden days of train travel. In the spirit of the Orient Express, we took the luxurious Andean Explorer to Cusco. Often referred to as one of the best train journeys of the world, the ten hour journey took us through spectacular changing landscapes passing steppes, nomadic tribes, deep gorges shouldering the river... A fascinating 10 hours traveling over the Andes , the train was very comfortable and the staff attentive. So much to see in terms of rural life and changing landscapes. Great observation car with a nice bar. There is some entertainment en route some of which was a little bizarre but credit to the effort that was put into it.... More
