Owner description: Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

This is the best train trip I have had so far, a sort of a modern version of an Oriental Express. You can purchase the ticket on line yourself or you can have a travel agent do it for you. The seats are rather roomy, or at least for a tiny person like me, but compare to any British trains... More

Magnificent scenery in the Andes, excellent service, a sense of former glory - like the orient express, but still very Peruvian. One of the highlights on our trip to South America. Only wish it lasted longer!

It begins like a step into the past, boarding this charming old style train destined for Puno from Cusco. The whole train is devoted to making the 10 hours onboard a memorable one. If viewing the soaring Andes as you glide by is not enough then there is a stop to stretch your legs, a delicious lunch and other snacks/drinks.... More

We took the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco - travelling in a very comfortable stylish carriage. We enjoyed the sit back and relax kind of atmosphere, looking out large windows at the changing scenery - grabbing photos of whatever took our fancy (try doing that on a plane!). The meals were very pleasant and the service was friendly and... More

Really loved the relaxed - slow journey back....in comfort on time and with great service from the porters - the sky roof is also wonderful to get a real feel of the scale of the Andes around the train...

I had the front seat, so looked out the front window of the Vista dome all the way to Aguas Calientes (Macchu Pichu). It was an amazing trip up and nice to get a small snack for afternoon tea. Staff were friendly and helped with luggage. The trio back was less interesting, but still pleasant.

My Partner and I took the train from Puno to Cusco and were highly impressed. The cabins were roomy and it was beautifully presented- lovely chairs, table cloths, red rose, lamp on the table. The service was excellent, warm, friend and attentive. Food was good, considering it was served on a train. Lots of attention to details. They spread out... More

My husband and I took the PeruRail Expedition from the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes(Macchu Pichu) and it was okay. The seats face other people which can sometimes be a little awkward. It's not an uncomfortable trip but it is a little boring, so bring cards. On the way home we took the Vistadrome and it was amazing!! Definitely worth... More

Trains are not my favourite way to travel but the entertainment, observatory car, food and environment allowed our group to relax and enjoy the 9 hour journey. Yes, the last hour or so was rather tedious but the change in scenery and observing remote communities was really interesting. AND of course when you get to Lake Titicaca you will be... More
