Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

Worth every cent. A fantastic way to experience the different landscape of the Andes while being treated like royalty. Excellent food and drink throughout, fun entertainment and far more comfortable than taking the bus. We cannot recommend this highly enough.

This is the way to Machu Picchu. Relaxed rail travel with skylight carriages, following an icy stream all the way. A fine Peruvian white on the way back...now this is style!

The thought of a 10 hour train journey was quite daunting, but this was one that could have gone on longer! Such a fabulous experience to cross such magnificent countryside in such luxury and comfort. From the moment one checks in, the service is excellent. The seats are actually very comfortable chairs, and it is a pleasure to be served... More

Cusco to Puno is cheaper by bus.... but it is nowhere near as indulgent! This train is run by the same company that runs the Orient Express in Europe and it shows, service (Ingrid) was impeccable, food excellent - just how they manage this quality on trains is beyond me. My photos show the food and the seating style but... More

We travelled on the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco; it was a magical journey. We were thoroughly spoiled - the scenery was breathtaking (especially from the observation car), food was good, entertainment great and staff attentive and very cordial. We were mostly attended to by a very nice young lady called Rosita. The train is very comfortable; great to... More

If anyone had told me I would enjoy every minute of this 10 hour journey I wouldn't have believed them. What a perfect day! Far too much food (you get breakfast, lunch, and tea), fashion shows, live music, an open air observation deck and a bar. And views to die for! The stop at La Raya, the high point of... More

One of my best experiences. Although I will be repeating the train ride, I feared an 10 hours train ride , but what a delight !! No problem, every mile of the way was full of fun, luxury train that was not only comfortable, the food and service was excellent, with fun and entertainment on board also fantastic scenery of... This trip was something I had been looking forward to for a long time, and it did not disappoint. From the moment you arrive at the station in Cusco it feels special. The staff are very professional and very welcoming. The train is beautifully appointed and charming. The whole day was a joy from start to end with wonderful food... More

Step back into the 19th century in this wood-panelled glorious train with the bar and observation deck at the back.
