Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

We travelled from Puno to Cusco and whilst check in was a long snaking line out the door, we were processed quickly and on board a lovely wagon with large armchairs instead of the usual train seats. I was able to change to a more comfortable setting with just us 2 opposite one another and if you don't like travelling... More

If you try to travel from Cusco to Puno (or other direction), you should use the opportunity to go with the Andean Explorer from Peru Rail. Even as a flight is shorter, you should go by train as you have the whole day an exciting view to the Andean highlands. Never seen so impressive views. We booked the trip online... More

We took the Andean Explorer to go from Puno to Cuzco in August 2014. This train ride is a true luxury! Service was impeccable, food was decent and they had great cocktails. The highlight was of course the observatory car-bar, which allowed us to make the most of the fantastic scenery. The only (relative) downsides were the price and the... More

The service was perfect, the ride was smooth, and the views outside were unbeatable. We rode the train on our way to Aquas Calientes, passing several Inca steppes and temples on the way. The river ran alongside the tracks for a while and the mountains towered above us the whole way. I've taken several train rides in Europe, but this... More

Once again I'm impressed by PeruRail. Punctual, friendly, efficient service. On this trip from Puno to Cusco, there was only about 15 passengers. The ambience of the carriage takes you back in time, with a lamp and a fresh rose on each table. The food was plentiful and tasty. Probably the highlight (apart from the out of this world scenery)... This is the best train trip I have had so far, a sort of a modern version of an Oriental Express. You can purchase the ticket on line yourself or you can have a travel agent do it for you. The seats are rather roomy, or at least for a tiny person like me, but compare to any British trains... More

Magnificent scenery in the Andes, excellent service, a sense of former glory - like the orient express, but still very Peruvian. One of the highlights on our trip to South America. Only wish it lasted longer!
