Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Train Facilities were not bad at all, train tickets are in English and are easy to understand. It is easy to see that train company is ran by private Firm as they seem to be well prepared.

Peru Rail makes a lot of advertisements , the train is well maintained and is clean and quite - the cost of tickets is very high taking advantage of the monopolistic situation !!

If you ignore the poor railway track, this would be a 5 star journey between Poroy and Machu Picchu. The problem is the track. It is poorly laid and there seems to be a maintenance problem too. The tracks are held to the sleepers by bolts either side of the track and not in shoes and clips as you find... More

Loved this 90 minute train ride. We went in business class equivalent. Great staff and service. Train was only a few minutes late. Full of charm. Another Great bit of British Engineering from a long time ago.

The big Windows on the side and on top could not be better. The clean feel, and the surprising attentive service made everything more comfy. And of course the views. We traveled from Poroy (Cusco) to Machu Pichu and going in the sacred valley is special. We returned by car and the car route is much less impressive because the... More
