Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions. « less

Yes the scenery is stunning for the first five hours. Then I started to feel packed in and uncomfortable. The staff did their best but overall the service was rather poor. Next time I´ll get a bus that can do a few more stops

It is a wonderful experience to travel in luxury and admire the beautiful landscape. The trip from Puno to Cuzco took 10hours but you get never bored, the scenery is wonderful, there are singers, dancers, you can learn how to prepare a pisco sour, there is a fashion show, ... And the food is delicious! You are treated like a... More

We travelled from Cusco to Puno, the journey taking 11 hours. The scenery was very interesting for the most part, though the last section was rather monotonous. Great opportunities to take photos, both from your armchair like seat or from the observation car. Service was excellent and the staff friendly. The food is not good. Our meal consisted of soup,... Always something to look at, the mountains were gorgeous. Small farms, animals...very interesting and beautiful trip! Enjoyed the bar car and the open view car. Pleasant and comfortable. Tables are in groups of 4 or groups of 2...groups of 2 can be side by side or across from each other.

We pre purchased our tickets via the internet six weeks before our trip. We were going from Cusco to Puno, a ten hour train trip. The tickets were emailed to us and said 'depart Cusco', we didn't know that there were two stations in Cusco and even though we were an hour early to the station, we didn't realise we... More

This was simply awesome. Another spectacular journey from the Inca Capital Cusco to Pre Inca Capital PUNO by Andean explorer train. The train was filled with travelers across the globe enjoying the glass view of the landscape with an open observatory at the back of the train, Peruvian music and dance and a breathtaking journey enjoying the climb that goes... Fantastic ride. The views were spectacular and we especially enjoyed the bar wagon with its open end. The ride was super comfortable and the 10 hours flew by. I would love to take the train again!

We experienced a very well organized trip on the luxury train to Machu Picchu. Although the price tag is very high, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Everything is included from start to finish. Only specialty drinks on the train are charged separately. We stayed at the Belmond Rio Sagrado hotel near Urubamba and had to take a taxi to/from Ullantaytambo... More

This is probably the most interesting train ride I have ever had. Luxury train, replica of trains from twenties, travelling across the Andes with experiencing landscape from partially opened observation wagon, good entertainment... It's a pity that food wasn't on the level of the whole event. Be aware that due to the social turmoils in Juliaca or Puno train departures... More
