We came here to enjoy the views and it is well worth the hike from downtown Arequipa. There is also a lovely church in the mirador you should check out.

Not far from downtow, this Mirador allows you to see the valley, the river, and the new bridge (Chilinas) opened only a few months ago and said to be the longest in Peru. Unfortunately the church by the Mirador was closed.

Not recommend this hotel, they steal and take belonging from your suitcases. Bad experience. They pretend to be nice and smile at you thinking that every thing is OK. But surprise when you arrive to your home town you find out that a lot of the stuff you bought were missing. Don't stay in this hotel just because it looks... More

We stayed in a rental apartment in this lovely historic neighbourhood and settled into the friendly, relaxed lifestyle. The tiny plant lined alleys, the plaza with mirador, church, cafes and restaurants, make it a very attractive district. Its out of the bustle and smoke of the old centre, but near enough to walk. It also has the best Picanterias in... More

This is where you can see the Misti volcanoe in its plenitude. Also you can see the city of Arequipa.

After enjoing the nice view of the city of Arequipa, I walked to the square in Yanahuara and took my shoes off and relaxed a little bit... Then, great surprise, a man wearing an uniform came and told me I could not stay there without shoes... Of course, that is the logic in countries like Peru, where they are more... More

Not very far from the center of Arequipa is the Yanahuara neighborhood. There are lots of small paved streets and a great view towards the volcano, and Arequipa below. Quite nice 2 hours walk. There are nice "cafe" place.

If you have the time, Yanahuara is worth a quick visit. A nice old church, a mirador and a nice residential area that is actually within walking distance of the Plaza de Armas.
