This is where you can see the Misti volcanoe in its plenitude. Also you can see the city of Arequipa.

After enjoing the nice view of the city of Arequipa, I walked to the square in Yanahuara and took my shoes off and relaxed a little bit... Then, great surprise, a man wearing an uniform came and told me I could not stay there without shoes... Of course, that is the logic in countries like Peru, where they are more... More

Not very far from the center of Arequipa is the Yanahuara neighborhood. There are lots of small paved streets and a great view towards the volcano, and Arequipa below. Quite nice 2 hours walk. There are nice "cafe" place.

If you have the time, Yanahuara is worth a quick visit. A nice old church, a mirador and a nice residential area that is actually within walking distance of the Plaza de Armas.

Arequipa is a stunning city and this little square is a pretty example of what it was. The facade of the church is a beautiful carved and the white arches very traditional however the once stunning view of the city is now interrupted by buildings everywhere. If the view is what you are looking for, you are better off to... More

At Yanahuara, you can see one of the volcano very clearly, make it a good location for pictures. It's not much else to see, so I'd recommend people to stop by the place on their way to something else. Plan on staying for just a 10-15 minutes for some pictures only. Then, quickly move on.

This plaza is well laid out and has lovely views over part of the city and some of the volcanoes. A lot of people seem to go there just to hang out. The white volcanic structures make the square attractive.

We walked to the viewpoint at Yanahuara from the main square area of Arequipa. It is maybe a 30-40 min walk each way with the end of the way there uphill. The viewpoint itself is a nice little square/park. It has great views of Misti but I was hoping for better views of the other mountains as well. It is... More

We took our guidebook's advice and walked from our hotel in Central Arequipa to the Yanahuara neighborhood. It was nice to see a different part of the city and a bit of a glimpse into the every day lives of people who live there. Walking to the main square took maybe 45 minutes--I wasn't paying attention to the time. The... More

Nice architecture, well maintained city and churches. The Mirador is one of the best places to visit.
