Just near from Arequipa, we did our own trip by using the local transportation! Such a nice scenery! Been recommending this to friends!

After researching the options, I ended up booking with Peru Schweiz tours as I was told they were one of the good budget operators and were a direct provider (not an agent). Colonial was the other direct option except they didn't allocate much time at the hot springs so I went with Peru Schweiz. They also did a good deal,... More

We had a great time in Colca Canyon. The drive to the Canyon can be a little rough, but overall enjoyable. We did not get to see the condors up close , but the canyon is beautiful and wll worth the trip!

We did an overnight trip into the canyon with a guide and driver for about 8 people. Stopped off to see the vicuna and llamas on the way and a few sites. The morning of the trip was to see the condors soaring overhead. Spectacular!

Colca canyon itself is amazing... I really wished I had gone trekking there.. The scenery is beautiful - some of the most beautiful in South America. However do not go with Colonial tours! We got back on the bus after viewing the condors at the look out for an hour and I thought it was strange that my bag was... More

Try to pack lightly don't do like I did. Its a great scenic view don't expect to see those famous condors you might see if you want to capture a photo have your camera ready. Your feet will be sour lots of climbing but worth it. Imagine yourself back them to really experience the trek.

The tour was excellent! Our guide, Jean, was fantastic, he taught us a bunch cool things, was very enthusiastic. And the views are incredible. If you like hiking a little bit, definitely do the Colca Canyon trek! Also, as an FYI, the trek is somewhat difficult; especially the first day is a long (think 6 hours at a decent pace,... More

Go before dawn to see sunrise on the terrasses! You will remember it for the rest of your life. If you see the condors, it's a bonus!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Colca valley at Yanque. We took a trip to the Colca canyon Mirador Del condor with Agotur Colca, their guide Paul made the rip very interesting. Later we hired a taxi at the plaza for 150 soles and drove to cabanaconde, trekked on the trail to Tapay oasis. Great views of the canyon.

On our recent 35 day Peruvian visit we were fortunate to spend time in Arequipa and the Colca Canyon. When we got home we realized it was the only place we wished we had spent more time! Go independently. You do not need a tour. Buy a bus ticket for Cabanaconde skip Chavey and get off at Yanque. Stay at... More
