We did the 4 days hike by our selves (not guided)... Spending 2 nights in Hostal LLahuar Lodge, incredible tranquil place, very nice hosts, located in between the canyon mountains and right in the intersection of the 2 rivers...it's the hikers dream! After a long and tough hike to the lodge, you just spend the rest of the day/night relaxing... More

This was a fascinating trip. We did it the backwards way. First we schlepped out to the Toro Muerto petroglyphs, which took FOREVER to get to but which were awesome once we arrived. While we were there we felt an earthquake there! We stayed overnight at the top of the canyon, hiked down to Sangalle the next day (with a... More

We were very lucky to get a chance to see the Condors flying all over the place a few minutes after we arrived to the Cruze de Condor. We also did other tours while we were around the area which were amazing to see. My family and I were loved ever minute of our time in the Colca Canyon.

Colca canyon is located a few hours away from Arequipa and there are multiple two day trips that go from Arequipa. Would like highly recommend to visit the canyon. Compared to the Grand Canyon, the Colca Canyon is greener and is full of history. You will find some of the oldest step farming farms in the canyon, some as high... More

I did the one day tour because there wasn't that much difference between the 1 and 2 day tours, other than the dancing thing at the night which didn't interest me that much. Make sure that you take your 70 soles with you (if you are not from Latin America) to pay your tourist ticket for the national park, I... More

Again another fun trip. We trekked down into the canyon and camped there over night. not for the faint of heart. it is steep rocky descent.

Spectacular views and scenery. Great exercise. Good people -- both in our group and in the villages we stayed in. While it was a tough slog for much of the way, it was worth it for all of these reasons. But take the full three days to do it, as we did, instead of the alternative two. Two is doable,... More

I did the 2-day hike in the colca canyon and loved it. The first morning you go early to see the condors flying - amazing!!! Then you hike down the canyon until lunch. My first morning was very sunny and hot. There is almost no shade at all. After lunch you continue to the oasis down in the canyon where... More

My husband and I did the three day trek through Colca Canyon and had a blast. It's tough on the knees on day one, but worth if for the second day. You arrive at the oasis at the end of the second day and it is spectacular. Worth the entire trip. The accommodations are pretty rough, but you are so... More

Exhilarating experience seeing the Condors fly at Condor's Cross. Extraordinary geography of the canyons and pre-inca terraces.
