I went on my own as many websites suggested that the trails were marked clearly and that the locals were helpful. Perhaps I didn't look around well enough, or the signs weren't that good in order to make people pay for a guided tour, but eventually I got lost, had to go through cactus fields, wounded my feet, tried to... The appropriately named "Condor Travel" organised my trip to Colca Canyon and they did a wonderful job. On the bus trip from Arequipa we reached almost 5000m and passed through acres of Vicuna Reserve where locals are licensed to tend these wild animals. Stayed overnight at The Colca Lodge - excellent and reviewed separately. Visiting Cruz del Condor in the... More

Would highly recommend Peru Schweiz for a Colca Trek. We considered going DIY but after weighing up our options decided to pick a tour agency and ended up with these. We had our apprehensions as the price of 140 Soles was way under the top choices on here. Having done the trek I don't see why you would pay any... More

Very nice view! Worth the travel, although a bit far. The altitude is very high so you might feel a bit sick.

The best part of the tour was the condors! Giant condors flying right above your head was an amazing sight .

We booked a trek with our hostel of 2 days and 1 night. At the place were you can see the condor, you can see condors and also the terraces which are so impressive. You can really start to feel the altitude if you are not used to it. The view is AMAZING! For the trek, you have to be... More

We decided to go on this tour as recommended by our hotel in Central Arequipa. We must say that the the views were absolutely stunning. Along the way we stopped in town of Chivay for breakfast and a chat with the locals / other tourists, It is certainly a tour that got our hearts racing, especially if you are not... More

Colca Canyon runs for around 62 miles and is one of the world's deepest canyons. The surrounding views are completely stunning, particularly the Collagua Terraces where local people cultivate crops. If you get chance to get to the canyon's highest point: La Cruz del Condor there is a good chance you will see condors soaring above; we certainly did and... More

What an impressive place! I hoped to see one or two condors, maybe from far.... little blacks spots in the sky, but was overwhelmed by these majestic birds! 8 or more circled the skies above us, just meters away from us. I could hardly believe it and was close to tears! If you walk besides the platforms (of course packed... More

The views are incredible. Though deeper than the Grand Canyon in AZ, it is quite different. Incredible opportunities for hiking. We saw dozens of condors in flight, many quite close to us. The options for tours are varied and at all price ranges.
