This was my third trip to Peru but my first time to the canyon. The views are absolutely amazing as you are surrounded by mountains and active volcanoes. Going on the drive to see the condors is also a must. One of the most breathtaking sights I've ever seen to see those majestic birds take flight and soar through the... More

The canyon is spectacular - not just its depth and length, but amazing terracing and views. Of course the condors are just fabulous. We had great weather

We went for a 3D/2N hike with the 'colca trek' company located on Calle Jerusalem in Arequipa - we coudnt be more happy with the service - our guide, Christian was clearly very passionate about tourism in this area and quite knowledgeable and keen to speak to and get to know various members of our group - he handled a... Colca Canyon is touted as a must see attraction in Southern Peru, as it is the second deepest canyon in the world. However, most tours (2 days, 1 night) only go to the start of the canyon, and you will not get to see much of it at all. This is because the point you go to, the Condor Cross... More

Absolutely stunning valley. I did the a bus tour, which was really beautiful as well. They let us hike short stretches. If you have the time, then go for a trek. I wish I had had the time. The Incal valley part is an absolute must-see! Condor viewing point is great for seeing condors, but is over-populated by tourists.

As a group of two, we decided to do a tour in Colca Canyon while travelling Peru in March 2014. After some research, my friend found a guide called "Johselm Canto", a name that you should remember if you consider to go on a hike, not only in Colca Canyon, but anywhere in Peru or South America. We paid $210... More

The Colca Canion, although much deeper than the Great Canion, is less impressive but the experience of the trek was amazing. Super hardcore as for me ( I hike in the mountains from time to time and I am averagely fit- going to the gym/ runni g 10 kms few times a week) . You'll meet great people on the... More

The village is nice and surroundings beautifull. We regret that we did not do a days hike..but only went there to see the condors...Kuntur Wasi is a good address if you are searching for a hotel there.

We did this trip a few years ago, in October - saw many condors flying quite close to us and the views were also very nice. You have to make sure you're at the condor view point at the right time in the morning. I don't remember which hour it was, but it was relatively early and we read that... More

We were surprise by the deepth of the canyon and more when we saw the condors, not only one, but maybe 10 and so close. This was one of the highlights of our journey, don't miss.
