Although we wanted the whole experience, starting with the market tour and ending with a Pisco Sour, that was not exactly what we got. We were informed the morning of the activity, that there would be no market tour that day. But, when we arrived, we paid for the lunch and the Pisco sour tour. The cooking experience was enjoyable.... More

This is a really great way to spend a day in Arequipa. My husband and I signed up to take the class. We cooked a local dish called Ricotto Rellanos, a Peruvian stuffed pepper dish. We also made salad and a potato dish. The food was excellent. Our instructor (Lady) was fun and got the entire group (6 of us)... More

De signed up twice, but it was cancelled both times, once there was no chef to teach US, next there was no water!

Dear Guest Please excuse us for the inconvinience. February was terrible for us. The city was working on the water pipes and with no advise they cut the service several times. You have to understand, water is very important to do such an activity. Fortunately they have finished and we expect no problems like that in the future. We understand this... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the cooking course which included the market visit and pisco sour making. I can recommend it to anyone visiting Arequipa.

The tasting of different fruits on the market was nice, while we already did by ourselves. The cooking experience was crappy; we didn't learn anything new, we were only cutting food and that's it. The group was split in 2 teams, where we didn't got the information what was shared with the other team, so no clue how to make... More

Dear Guest This is the lowest evaluation we have received since we opened. And of course we are worried about it. We are reviewing all our procedures in order to correct any mistake. We want this activity to be a cultural souvenir from Peru. Be sure we will do our best to achieve this with future guests. Sorry for not... More

Great fun and great introduction to the peruvian food. You get to do most of the things yourself. And market visit is also worth of time.

What can we say! Thank you very much for your opinion. Makes us work harder for our gests to enjoy!. The Market tour is being improved for this year, and the Pisco lecture now has an extension called "Happy Hour in Peru!" with local music and dancing classes. And of course we keep our discount accommodation rate for those who... More

As two travellers on a shoestring, we have previously skipped cooking courses on our travels as they've been too pricey. However after seeing the reviews for this and realising that it wasn't overly expensive, we decided to give Peruvian Cooking Experience a go. The cooking course itself cost 65 soles (about £13), with additional market tour and pisco lecture/making for... More

In the 3 weeks we were studying at Casa de Avila, we took all three cooking classes. They were so much fun! The teachers (Nattie and Lady) were awesome, and the recipes were delicious and fun to make. You end up with a three course feast so come hungry! It was such a fun highlight of our time there and... If taking this cooking class, don't miss the market and pisco sour add-ons. The market is fascinating and you get to taste various fruits and see what the arequipeños eat on a daily basis. The class was very well organized and the food tasty. We chose the pastel de papas and the rocoto rellenos class and were not disappointed. The... More
