it was fun to do. I had a small class witch they don't normally do. there were a few now show people. I think that added to the fun because of the more contact with teacher and possibilities for questions. be sure in advance that you know what recipies you will be cooking. and think of some questions in advance... Maybe we've been spoiled by cooking classes all over SE Asia, but this wasn't up to our standards. You don't learn really about any of the ingredients, the recipes, or the dishes themselves. Instead, it's about following specific prep instructions. There are only three stovetops, instead of one/student (or per pair) which was our experience previously. The food was OK,... More

We enquired about a class the morning of the class (starts at 11am) and we're lucky to have a class put on for us and 2 others who turned up at the same time. The menu we cooked was the Traditional Menu option which includes Causa and Lomo Saltado. Our instructor was Lady. She was absolutely fantastic, her instructions were... More

My partner and I attended a class here and it was lovely - in the garden in the open air. Unfortunately I fell ill (due to the heat) and the staff were extremely helpful, making sure I had plenty of water and making sure I got back to my hotel safely. My partner stayed for the remainder of the day... More

The perfect way to experience traditional Peruvian cooking and food; me and some friends cooked the Andean menu which consisted of the famous rocoto relleno, pastel de papa and soltero de queso. The woman who took our class spoke perfect English and was very friendly and helpful, which made the experience infinitely more enjoyable. The food we cooked is great to... More

We stayed at Casa de Avila for a couple of nights. We figured we should try their cooking class as the garden in the hotel made us felt relaxed. "Lady" was our cooking instructor. She was awesome. Her instructions were clear, her English is perfect, and she always gave us a smile even we screwed up sometimes during the preparations.... More

The Peruvian Cooking Experience was a great change from the usual touring. The class is held at outdoor kitchen at one end of the lovely Casa de Avila courtyard. The five of us in the class got plenty of individual attention from our capable teacher and chef, Ledi. I don't know if I will ever get the courage to flame... More

I had an afternoon to kill and this turned out to be a great activity. Our chef "Lady" was wonderful and talked a lot about the food and ingredients. Well worth the money.

I am travelling solo right now. Turned out I was the only one to take class and they still arranged it especially for me! Amazing! Nat was brilliant ready to share details on the food, traditions and making the entire experience a lot of fun! We prepared causa which perhaps is not so complicated but with Nat it was just...
