Ys, and it is very good and healthy... Quinua beer, ceviches (hot and sour), adobo, and much more! Do try the chicha morada, chicha de maiz with its many flavors, picarones for desser

We were guests at Casa de Avila hotel and enjoyed a 2 hour cookery course as an add-on. There were just four of us and we cooked Rocotto Relleno, Pastel de Papa and a salad starter. We'd had little sleep the night before (family party) but it held our attention and gave us a delicious lunch to sit down to... More

We enjoyed the food. All breakfasts were included as some lunch buffets and this gave us the opportunity to taste many typical plates. I ate the best trout ever at the Taquile Island. Fish, chicken and pork were always well prepared and tasty. Their tres leche cake is one of my favorite.

The class starts off with a tour of a local indoor market. This was nearly the highlight of the class. So interesting and the guide stops at many of the stalls and lets you know what they are selling. At the fruit we got to sample the unusual ones. Loved it. Then back to the hotel where the cooking takes... More

Based on Lonely Planet and other sources we built our expectations to actually discover a simple kitchen and often not so good food . Be careful with the Empanadas , sometimes the meet is bad ....

Dear traveller. You have not being with us in Peruvian Cooking Experience. You are talking about "empanadas" and we DO NOT prepare, sale or invite that kind of food in our activity. So your commentary is not related to our Cooking Experience. Sorry if you had problems with local food. But it was not ours, neither our activity. More

Lady, our Chef, was outstanding! She was very sweet and knew what she was talking about with cooking! Lady helped me to make my Rocoto Relleno vegetariano style! I may try to replicate that for dinner! ;D

If time allows it, take a cooking class that starts by going grocery shopping to the old market place, then come back to the yard to cook a healthy lunch as you learn to prepare Peruvian dishes. Great fun!

We took the seafood class, and it was great. The instructor was friendly and knowledgeable and the food we made was delicious. It was a great way to meet people as well. My only regret is that we didn't take the market portion of the class, just the cooking itself.

Both my wife and I are very into cooking and restaurants. We have done several cooking classes and found this one to be great. Once you arrive, you wait in the great garden of the hotel until your class starts. Chef Lady (her name is Lady) speaks great english and seems to enjoy teaching how to cook Peruvian classics. Definitely... More
