We did an English-guided tour of the Cathedral and the museum. Our guide did a great job telling us about the history and showing us all the important parts of the Cathedral. Next we got to see the museum which has unbelievably beautiful relics from the Cathedral, made from silver, gold and precious stones. However, the best part was being... More

Recontructed in 19C after a major earthquake, this building is more impressive from the outside than inside, which seems mainly empty, compared with the many ornate churches in Arequipa. I had a guided tour, the highlight of which was going onto the roof - with views of the Plaza de Armas, and access to the bells. More

The stained glass windows are beautiful. Awsome history with it's one tower being destroyed in an earthquake and rebuilt. More

The architecture is nice and the organ inside is just amazing. The altars are carved on volcanic rock from the "Misti" volcano More

Historical and beautiful, the cathedral hosts a museum, an amazing pipe organ and a carved pulpit. The locals have a legend that the image of Satan carved into the pulpit will not render in photographs, but I have the photos of the snake himself. If you are given the opportunity and can handle uneven stairs, go up to the bell... More

This Cathedral is huge but does offer some great Peruvian/Cuscoian art and a place to rest and seek some peace and quiet. Well worth a visit but take the time to enjoy its magnificence. More

Didn't have time to go into cathedral but as you stand on every corner of the Plaza you cannot fail to notice it's beauty and enormity and the amount of work it took to rebuild the towers after the earthquake. More

I think Im just getting tired of seeing so many catholic churches with so much wealth within them when there is so much poverty outside their walls. Lovely building though. More
