Efrain of Mio Tours, Cuenca was a joy to spend time with. Excellent English. Always punctual. Safe driver. Advised us ahead of time what to bring. Even supplied hot tea or coffee when we had early starts.. Dealt with all details making our trip troublefree. Knew his subject thoroughly wherever we visited.i.e.The Inca ruins of Ingapirca, Giron Waterfalls and Devil... More

Efrain, our tour guide, is passionate about what he does. He loves the people, the culture, and the history of Ecuador. He answered all our questions and on any subject. We discussed health care, city vs country living, rent costs, food, local craftsmanship specialties of the surrounding towns... we even learned that a lot of Ecuadorian Rum is a very... More

We asked for Efrain because he got rave reviews from someone else we know. They were right! No knowledge of spanish? NO problem! Having grown up in Ecuador and also having lived 20 years in the U.S, he was able to relate to our newness in his country very well! We were going to do a couple days, but we... More

Efrain was our driver today. He picked us up at our hotel, and was there a few minutes early, patiently waiting for us. After a brief discussion of where we were going, we started driving. Our tour today was the "craft town" tour. Because our trip was during Carnival (Feb 20), many things were closed everywhere. Efrain had made arrangements... More

I chose Mio Tours for several reasons: 1) the price was so much less than what big operators (the busloads) charge - it is all inclusive with transportation in a comfortable 4-wheel drive; absolutely gorgeous hotel with pool, veranda, walking paths; food both tipico and continental; personal AND personable guide with knowledge of the very interesting history of Ecuador; a... We had a tour of some of the artisan villages outside Cuenca as well as a tour of the Inca ruins at Cojitambo. Efrain was very well informed and could answer all our questions, even the ones that had nothing to do with the tour. We even asked about the method of pig roasting that we keep seeing along the... We signed up for a tour and Efrain was our tour guide. His english is great and he tailored the tour to my family's desires. My oldest son a fourteen year old is in love with music and guitars and big E made that an important part of our tour. The vehicle is new and very well maintained and quite... More

Our tour guide, Efrain, gave us a wonderful 8 hour tour of Cuenca and the surrounding area. He speaks English well and includes very interesting sites and a delightful lunch in a nearby town. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our day and felt like we had a reliable, new friend. Indeed we did. We have just returned to Cuenca... More

Our day spent with Efrain was a pleasant one. He's knowledgable of the sites, the roads, the history, and seems to know many of the local artisans. Clean vehicle in very good condition. His English is good and you will have a pleasant day with him. More

Our family of four had Efrain showing us everything from ruins to guitars... He was great with our two boys, and seemed to really love his country. It was great to hear of his stories of all of the great changes that are happening in Ecuador. He was very patient with our family, and really tried to show us true... More
