We've been 3 times. Grounds and aesthetics are beautiful, staff is attentive and the program seems unique. The only spa we've attended in Cuenca, it's different in that they run you through a number of treatments on a schedule. They have Turkish baths, mud hot tubs, steam boxes and hot and cold contrast baths. The mud baths are fun as... More

Don't judge this spa by its cover. Beautiful place to view but disorganized staff with one focus --- getting you to pay upfront! I arrived for lunch and had a massage scheduled. The impressive red rock, thermal swim pools filled with families and attractive tent with modern patio seating for dining gave me a wonderful first impression. However, that was... More

As a local resident, I've been at the spa three times over the last couple years, and I'm just not inclined to return. What is somehow missing is the peace and tranquility that I associate with a true retreat from the city... there are just too many people splashing around. The full treatment is good but if you do not... More

Tasty and inexpensive food and drink. Relaxing setting. Employees were very professional. The operation is owned by a beautiful family that lives on-site. Well worth the time and money. Best massage ever. More

I was surprised by the very nice environment and the high quality massage when this place was recommended to me in my hotel in cuenca. i returned two times for a very nice massage. Make sure to have enough time before or after a massage (2 hours) for the bathes. Highly recommended. Just don't forget to bring your own locker. More

We chose to go to Piedra del Agua after reading trip advisor, but were a little apprehensive given the divergent range of reviews. Yes the cab ride is bumpy(All Cuenca cab rides are bumpy!!), and you do need to be specific with your driver, or you may wind up at another spa, but that's part of travelling in a diffent... More

The spa sounded terrific in the writeups but didn't quite live up to our expectations. We elected not to buy the whole package since it seemed quite expensive. We used the thermal pools which were fine but could get quite crowded and not quite so relaxing as we had hoped. The weather was overcast so that took away from the... More

The spa did such a good job with its pretty flyers and nice website photos, but the real thing is a huge disappointment. Honestly, the weather (pouring as I got to the hot springs) was partly to blame, but nothing else went right the day I went. It was a pretty long and bumpy cab ride from the city of... More
