You most likely won't be able to see the whole park in one visit, it is gigantic. There is so much to do and such a nice place to relax, play, exercise, etc. There's so much that goes on on the weekends (including free salsa lessons and an organic farmer's market- on Saturday mornings). Sundays are the busiest, and during... More

I am a sucker for urban green spaces, and Carolina Park is fantastic. It is wonderful to see so many people out enjoying nature in the middle of a city. We have walked to and through this park numerous times during the day and always felt very safe. The botanical gardens are amazing - well laid out and with nice... More

Wonderful for a casual stroll or a jog. Walking and biking path. Fun group exercises on Saturday and sunday mornings.. to salsa music for all to join. Alongside the park are several cafes and restaurants and it is not far from Quicentro if you want to shop.

I take my 1 year old boy every afternoon that I can, is close enough, any bus that goes in Shyris street will take you there, or any taxi, there is also parking space (50cents for 1 hour, too busy on the weekends). For children there is so much to do, there are lots of slides and such, there is... More

This huge park in Quito is a great place to people watch on a Sunday. It is also home to the botanical gardens. The surrounding area, particularly the northern end of the park, is modern and upmarket and there is a glitzy mall which is worlds away from the old town. Made for a fun, interesting day out.

The botanical garden is very well done. The variety is amazing. With the green house displays and the wandering paths, you see an incredible variety of Ecuador plant life. We took a cab to the park and walked to the botanical garden entrance. If you're really into this kind of thing, you should plan to spend at least two hours... More

The botanical gardens and especially the orchid exhibition were a highlight of our visit in Quito. The vast array of these magnificent flowers was breathtaking.

This is my favorite park in Quito, where I run almost every day since I've been living here for the past two months. It's a gorgeous respite in the middle of the "new town" and close by to good cafés, ice cream and places to walk around. I definitely recommend checking out the morning free Zumba lessons, where professional instructors... More
