The botanical garden is very well done. The variety is amazing. With the green house displays and the wandering paths, you see an incredible variety of Ecuador plant life. We took a cab to the park and walked to the botanical garden entrance. If you're really into this kind of thing, you should plan to spend at least two hours... More

The botanical gardens and especially the orchid exhibition were a highlight of our visit in Quito. The vast array of these magnificent flowers was breathtaking.

This is my favorite park in Quito, where I run almost every day since I've been living here for the past two months. It's a gorgeous respite in the middle of the "new town" and close by to good cafés, ice cream and places to walk around. I definitely recommend checking out the morning free Zumba lessons, where professional instructors... More

We were looking for something to do -- I planned 3 full days to explore Quito and this was a big hit. It's a quiet little haven in the middle of the city. Everything is written in Spanish for the most part but just walk amongst the gardens, visit the hot houses -- including the carnivorous plant section and don't... More

The Botanical Garden was wonderful - an orchid house full of the most beautiful and mysterious orchids I have ever seen (who knew orchids came in these strange shapes?), surrounded by a wonderful rose garden. The greater Parque, that surrounds the botanical garden is where Quitenyos go to play - and you well see whole families here enjoying themselves on... More

If you like orchids don't miss the orchid exhibits at the botanical garden in the park. The park is huge so there is room for walking, running or just people watching.

If you are into photography and like to mingle with the locals Parque La Caroline is a good place. Very nice place to relax, have a picnic lunch or just watch the locals doing the same. Good place to photograph people, but be discreet and respectful. Lots to see and do. You can also spend some time at the Botanical... More

Located in the north side of Quito and with multiples shopping malls around it, as well as quite a few government institutions, this park is a great place to enjoy the afternoon. It doesn't matter if you go alone, with your loved one, friends or children. there is something for everyone from the boat in the small artificial lake, to... More

We go to this park on a regular basis for picnics and an escape from the busy city. There are plenty of places to play football (soccer), tennis, volleyball, and basketball. There are also areas that are left open and planted with trees (perfect for a walk or picnic). Overall, an awesome park in the middle of the city where... More
