We have gone twice in a week. The botanical gardens are a treasure, so serene even on a Saturday. If you want to learn about the foliage of all Ecuador, go to the park and gardens. Also on the weekends rent a bike a cruise the park, or just walk and people watch. There are some very good places to... More

If you want to do some sport: run, walk and/ or some exercises, La Carolina is certainly a place o recommend in Quito. You will avoid to run in the streets where is certainly not easy to breathe: smog and lack of oxygen. The best is to start early in the morning as the locals do. You will be able... More

Beautiful green space in the middle of urban Quito: lovely botanical gardens, a fascinating reptile zoo and more. Worth a visit.

A visit to this park is a great way to start you day in Quito. There is so much energy all day long, but particularly in the mornings when the weather is cool. You find people working out on free machines, walkers walking, and joggers jogging. There is a 800 meter (0.5 miles) running track and a huge and tall... More

This Botanical Garden was very extensive and well kept. The variety of flowers and plants is amazing. The orchid area is beautiful as well as the rose garden. Very reasonable priced entrance fee and very extensive paths and gardens representing the different areas of Ecuador with a combination of outdoor gardens and temperature controlled greenhouses. Well worth the visit and... More

Carolina Park was right outside our hotel, so we spent a few days walking around the park in the mornings before heading out for our day. The park is pretty large and there aren't many trees or obstructions so you can see the entire thing with the mountains as a backdrop. There is a track that you can walk or... More

The park is very large. It contains open space but it also contains many soccer fields, a trick bike course, jogging trails, bike paths, etc. The main attraction for me and my spouse was the botanical gardens. The gardens are large and very beautiful. It has both outdoor and indoor gardens. Many examples of local and tropical plants are there... More
