We had a wonderful experience on a 1 day Cotopaxi bike tour, though we were not in our best shape the pieces of advice received from the bike guide was extremely useful and the car permanently accompanying us was reasuring.

My husband and I both in our mid fifties decided to go on the 3 day biking trip arranged by the biking dutchman after reading about it on Tripadvisor. Ana Lucia has been phenomenal with prompt emails regarding my concerns and questions. She is amazingly helpful with arrangements of our transportation and our luggage after the trip as we had... Dear Bek I remember fondly when you came into our office and told me with a big smile: “I feel like I’ve known you for a long time”! Funny, huh? How humans can relate to each other, even being thousands of kilometers away from each other! I reckon, that I felt the exact same way about you. Maybe the dozen... More

A really exhilarating and challenging day out biking down from Cotopaxi. I have never mountain biked before but Fernando and Dylan were excellent guides, lots of explanation and good equipment. Be prepared for some teeth rattling sections and take lots of layers plus a hat that will fit under your biking helmet (provided). Their web site says that this trip... More

Let me start apologizing for such a belayed reply. I usually try to answer in a blink of an eye. However these have been challenging weeks for the BIKING DUTCHMAN and for myself, and therefor I haven’t had the energy to reply. Challenging because we have won an open Contest organized by the Ministery of Tourism of ECUADOR, to take... More

Words cannot describe how much I would recommend doing a tour with the Biking Dutchman (BD). I heard about the BD through a blog I read online, and decided to go to their office in Quito to learn more about my options. The co-owner, Ana, was very friendly, and spoke English perfectly which made the booking procedure super smooth. I... More

The four day trip was great. The office is very responsive to questions and super friendly, great to deal with beforehand. Fernando is a fabulous guide and we had loads of fun with him. The details are well organized, accommodations are simple but very comfortable, the homemade food is delicious and bikes are in good repair. It's more of a... More

My sister and I highly recommend booking with Biking Dutchman. We are just resting up from a day tour at Cotopaxi and it was a perfect experience and an amazing, fun day!!! Did the 4 day bike tour, Feb 18-21, and had a great experience. Quito to Banos. The weather cooperated big time for this time of year too, which is huge! Fernando, our guide for the trip was AWESOME! He made the trip even better. Now, this isn't a "true" hardcore bicycle tour if that's what your looking for, but it... More

Please allow me to thank you for sharing your experience with likeminded travelers! I could not agree more with your assertive comment : “The riding part was just a lot of fun and the sites were spectacular” as this is precisely what we want to offer to our passengers. It also made me very happy to read your kind words... More

Not for the feint of heart but a must for anyone who loves authentic adventure. We are 67 and had no difficulties. But we were challenged. A view of traditional life that is amazing. Thanks for your kind review that helps us spread the word among the similar minded travelers. You nailed it! While we don’t offer the luxury of the Ritz, we experience a different kind of luxury, with the adrenaline and adventure of mountain biking we experience the staggering landscapes of the Andes, and visit indigenous communities to see their traditional way... I recently did the one day Cotopaxi downhill mtb ride with the biking Dutchman. The ride was pitched to us as a 32k ride with a max elevation of 4500m and minimum elevation of 3200m. Ride time was said to be approximately 3 hours. The actual ride was however rather different. The top 4 to 6 corners of the road... More

Thanks for your consideration! The Review you wrote was a wake up call and a reminder of something the owner always says: “You are as good as your last tour.“ And obviously we were not good that day… at least not for you. We are not going to make any excuses… on the contrary the only thing we would like... More
