The four day trip was great. The office is very responsive to questions and super friendly, great to deal with beforehand. Fernando is a fabulous guide and we had loads of fun with him. The details are well organized, accommodations are simple but very comfortable, the homemade food is delicious and bikes are in good repair. It's more of a... More

My sister and I highly recommend booking with Biking Dutchman. We are just resting up from a day tour at Cotopaxi and it was a perfect experience and an amazing, fun day!!! Fernando and Dylan were our guides, they made everything so easy and they were both really friendly and personable, they also know a lot about the volcano and... More

Did the 4 day bike tour, Feb 18-21, and had a great experience. Quito to Banos. The weather cooperated big time for this time of year too, which is huge! Fernando, our guide for the trip was AWESOME! He made the trip even better. Now, this isn't a "true" hardcore bicycle tour if that's what your looking for, but it... More

Please allow me to thank you for sharing your experience with likeminded travelers! I could not agree more with your assertive comment : “The riding part was just a lot of fun and the sites were spectacular” as this is precisely what we want to offer to our passengers. It also made me very happy to read your kind words... More

Not for the feint of heart but a must for anyone who loves authentic adventure. We are 67 and had no difficulties. But we were challenged. A view of traditional life that is amazing. Not the a Ritz for sure but worth a cold showe and lumpy bed. Staff amazing and super safety conscious. We did th three day trip... More

Thanks for your kind review that helps us spread the word among the similar minded travelers. You nailed it! While we don’t offer the luxury of the Ritz, we experience a different kind of luxury, with the adrenaline and adventure of mountain biking we experience the staggering landscapes of the Andes, and visit indigenous communities to see their traditional way... I recently did the one day Cotopaxi downhill mtb ride with the biking Dutchman. The ride was pitched to us as a 32k ride with a max elevation of 4500m and minimum elevation of 3200m. Ride time was said to be approximately 3 hours. The actual ride was however rather different. The top 4 to 6 corners of the road... More

Thanks for your consideration! The Review you wrote was a wake up call and a reminder of something the owner always says: “You are as good as your last tour.“ And obviously we were not good that day… at least not for you. We are not going to make any excuses… on the contrary the only thing we would like... More

Today I went on the day trip to the Cotopaxi with the Biking Dutchman tour. It was exceptional on all levels! The guides, drivers and food faultless (we were lucky with a perfectly sunny day as well). I have family in Ecuador and have been to base camp of the Cotopaxi several times before...but this is a not-to-be-missed experience. I'm... More

This 1 day Cotopaxi cycle trip on the second day of our 2 month trip around South America set the benchmark for the rest of the trip. We were lucky enough to be guided by Jan - the Dutchman himself. Starting at 15,000ft up Cotopaxi volcano in the midst of a freezing blizzard cloud, Jan's first and foremost concern was... More

A group of us recently did the one day biking tour down Cotapaxi Volcano. If you are considering doing this trip I would urge you to go with this company. We did the Four Day tour- 1-riding down Cotopaxi from 15000 ft 2-Quilotoa exploration of the crater lake and villages 3-Riding down snow covered Chimborazo 16000 ft 4-Waterfalls galore riding from Banos almost to Puyo. Wild horses, vicuna, snow, rain, sun and great companions. Fernando, our guide, easily wins the "best guide" award in our travelled opinion. He was organized,... More

This was easily the best experience of our three week trip through Colombia and Ecuador. We were picked up at 7am. Drove up to around 4.400m and than hiked to the top of the vulcano (4.800). Even though it was a bit cloudy up there it was a great feeling to reach the top. Afterwards we went back to the... More

The amazing views, the bike ride itself but especially the fact that you can pear inside the crater of an active volcano, makes this tour unique. However, this experience is a treat, reserved just for the daredevils, happy to hear that you enjoyed it. What amazes me most of this day tour is the fact that it is so close... More
