We are so glad we spent the day with the Biking Dutchman a few weeks ago. Our guide, Fernando was very personable and we met him at the Cotopaxi park (with our drivers) which he explained that we would acclimatize slowly to the altitude. My 14 year old daughter and I felt fine (although I know it varies from individuals).... More

Did 4 day trip in mid August with Fernando as guide. My wife and I had a lot of fun and the organisation was great. Some advice if you haven't been on bikes in the hills before- it can be cold and wet (follow the instructions you are sent and take waterproof jackets, trousers and gloves!) For the Brits amongst... Thanks for your kind review in the TRIP ADVISOR. From your description of the day, it seems that you had an especially cold day! Even though it is not always that cold, it is always advisable that passengers bring VERY warm and water proof clothing, as the owner says: “There is no bad weather just bad clothing”. But in spite... More

Awesome day. Really friendly guides with safety of customers always in mind. With plenty of advice on what to and what not to do. Lunch was provided which was home cooked and real yum. Start and endpoint were very central. Water and hot tea provided. Good bikes with lots of sprares. Guides ride behind and in front in ase of... More

3D/2N Tour First of all the positives, I was very impressed by how quickly my questions and queries were answered over email. The meeting spot in the morning was easily accessible and we got on the road quickly. Sadly, there were a lot of negatives. It is important to know that many of the areas visited are remote and therefore... More

We did the Cotopaxi Volcano biking trip in late July. I felt that the tour was good for the price and we saw a lot of the surrounding areas of the volcano. We did feel that the tour started a bit late as we were asked to meet at 7:00 am but did not end up leaving until about 8:45.... More

We read with much interest your thorough review. Thanks for explaining to potential clients how it feels to ride down a volcano! Even though we try to make it as easy as possible, the ride is challenging at parts. I share your view that the “ride through the Valley” is the nicest of all and definitely not to be missed!... My family took the Cotopaxi trip and will never forget it. We had different levels of mountain biking experience and each of us felt free to do as much or as little of the biking as we wanted. The other bikers started their ride at the first drop off point which is as high as cars can go on Cotopaxi... More

Dear Mia Please receive our heartfelt thanks for your appreciative comments. It came as a fresh wind to us, for which we are very thankful. Best way to see the Cotopaxi is on a bike for sure. We had a great time. The guide in front keeps up a good speed, the car follows the last guest. That's good otherwise you always end up going slow. This is recommended for sure. Towards The Biking Dutchman I would like to make 2 remarks though. 1. Your... More

My husband and I went biking on the Papallacta Trail with The Biking Dutchman last summer. The trail was beautiful and we enjoyed most of our trip until my husband hit a huge hole in the road and came off his bike. He broke his arm and rib but unfortunately the guide was very ignorant and unpleasant to him. He... More

Dear Murianne Sorry that I did not reply this earlier, but I was NOT able to locate your reservation! Since you mentioned that you did the tour in SEPTEMBER 2013 and you actually did it way earlier. Would it be possible that you twisted the truth “just a little” so that TRIP ADVISOR will not reject your review? Let us... More
