This is a stunning gallery that shows the work of an amazing, sensitive and corageous artist. It is one of the most beautiful contemporaries galleries I have visited. I can't recomended it enough. You will learn a lot about Ecuador and indeed LatinAmerica by visiting this site. It is moving and beautiful.

Wonderful gallery, brilliant guide, fascinating history and account. I hadn't even heard of this artist (shame on me) but I'll look out for him from now on.

I knew nothing about Guayasamín's art before going to his home and museum on my daughter's recommendation. This turned out to be one of the best experiences I had in Quito. The tranquility of the site, in combination with the soulful and emotional content of Guayasamín's work, made this an unforgettable few hours.

We had a guided tour of this building, which I would highly recommend taking the time to do. Guyasamin was a passionate man for human rights, and extremely sensitive to the plight of the less fortunate. This shows in his work, but a tour will give you deeper understanding. There are some lovely pieces in the collection.

This free entrance family foundation museum in honor of the talented late Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamin is well worth a visit. Located in Bellavista neighborhood with a nice view over the city. The museum is composed of his gorgeous and fascinating residence, the Capilla del Hombre displaying many pieces of his art, as well as his personal collection of pre-columbian... More

Guyasamin was closed, but we did get to see this museum. It was amazing. Besides his art work, the architecture and setting of La Capilla is spectacular.

This museum is wonderful, and has a rich history to it as well. The artwork is different from a lot of the history museums in the city, so it is a refreshing change of pace. Definitely a must-see while in Quito. I recommend learning a little about Guyasamín before you go, but either way, you will not be disappointed.

The location is cool with a nice view, but honestly, I was not impressed with the museum. This probably has to do with the fact that I really don't like this type of art. I'm glad that I went on Sunday because it's free on Sundays. In my opinion, not worth it if you have to pay. But it is... More
