Guayasamin's master works that explore the cruelty of man (and the hope of man) are on display in this striking achitectural space. The atmosphere is somber but powerful. Tours are offered, but we didn't take one as few words are necessary to feel the weight of these works. Don't miss! Plus on a clear day, the terrace offers great views... More

The "chapel" is an open space that inspires peace. The tree of life reminds you that death is part of life. The view reminds you how much humans are able to do despite our vulnerability. (It is free on sundays!!) More

We visited this first and then the Museum about 10 minutes walk down the hill.. Both are open all day from 10 a.m. (some of the guide books show that is is closed at midday) More

Unique in his art, yet not blind to the joy of color, or the simplicity of boldness in his figures, the work left behind for humanity to enjoy by artist Oswaldo Guayasamin and the Capilla del Hombre are both beautiful and thought provoking. Well worth the visit, as one of Ecuadors celebrated artists and his lifelong expression of "man's inhumanity... More

This is the place to see the beautiful artwork of Oswaldo Guayasamin. It's worth taking the $3 cab ride from Old Town as it is a very long walk up hill. More

The slow hot walk up to the Capilla was worth the effort.. an amazing construction by Guayasamin containing amazing pictures and murals. We, and veryone by the look of it, are approached by the staff and offered free personal guided tours of the artwork.. More

This is an amazing idea, a chapel that focuses on human suffering and makes you think. Personally I don't like Guyasamin's art in that I wouldn't want to live with it, but it's very strong and creates strong emotions, which I expect was more important to him. More

This place is gorgeous and a great partner to the Guayasamin museum. The artwork is beautiful and there´s also a pretty good view of the city from this location. More

A museum you must go see. The art is amazing, the building as well, and the view of Quito. It is one of the highlights of my museum visits. More

I'm normally not a big art person, but this was well worth the trip. However, we had an english tour of the place and we definitly would not have gotten as much out of it without having a guide. More
