In all of my travels in South America, this is one of the most impressive display of military buildings and monuments in one location. The Armada de Chile, the Chilean Navy Building, which fills the south southwest corner of the Plaza Sotomayor, with its massive Mansard style archtecture, is the headquarters for the Chilean Navy.
