A pretty spot worth a walk-through and a few pictures.

I suppose this is the core of the historical district and it is nice to see. Supposedly there is a museum underground but we didn't visit it.

Valparaiso is a port city, no beaches. This is the hub of the port for visitors. Many people catch boat rides from this point.

South America is full of plazas with statues. This is the starting point for Tours for Tips which is well worth taking. Not worth a trip to this square alone and well worth stopping at as pat of exploring Valparaiso which we found to be delightful.

A very traditional plaza by the train station in a more traditional style before you get "wowed" up the hill. Great people watching!

It's a large plaza surrounded by historical buildings, shops and restaurants. It's a great place to people-watch or meetup with friends.

Not very exciting, it is just like another plaza. The most exciting thing to see is probably a Starbucks or Melbourne Cafe. Right in front, you can go get a good view of the port in full action.

When you travel in Latin America, pretty much any large enough town would have some kind of a memorial. I guess it's good that people remember their history, but if you read a bit about the history of a town and it's size, you can make a pretty good guess about what you should expect to see and in this...
