Pablo Neruda was quite a character; poet, diplomat, architect, bon vivant and probably Chile's most famous native son. If you intend to go to Chile, particularly Santiago and Valparaiso, read up on the man so that when you visit this house and his others in Santiago and La Isla Negrita, you'll understand what he was all about. Pablo Neruda House La Sebastiana is situated on a steep hill overlooking the city and harbour. It has many levels and one can walk around the gardens and the interior without a tour guide. It is well worth your time to explore this house as it holds interesting information about Neruda. (Famous poet). There is a café and souvenir shop... more
