To be fair, I've never taken a cooking class before, but I really really enjoyed this class. Boris was a delight to work with, and even though we had 14 people in the class (which I gathered was the maximum), he did a great job of spreading out tasks and everyone worked very well together. We had a very fun... More

We signed up for the cooking class after recommendations from The Lonely Planet Guide book and other sources that came across along the way. I did this class with my boyfriend and sister. Our chef, Boris, was full of character, charm and knowledge. It was very exciting to learn and laugh with him throughout. After deciding on meal and making... More

We really enjoyed the Chilean Cooking Class. You can choose the dishes you want to prepare and then you go together to the market to buy all ingredients. You also get to taste different wine. Our chef Boris did a great job, this night was a lot of fun.

I met our chef Inez at 10:30 at the Melbourne Cafe in Plaza Sotomayor with my two parents and from there we began to plan our menu. It included classic Chilean dishes such as pebre, ceviche, pastel de choclo, empanadas, fruit salad, Pisco sour and wine. We then took a bus to the main market where we purchased the ingredients... It was really good to do that because you learn and you taste the dishes with fresh vegetable/clams/meat (what you choose to do). The teacher was also really nice and patient.

First a trip to the Mercado, a safe and organized way to get a taste of a very overwhelming place. Then, a great night to of cooking and tastings with Inez. Lastly, an email with the recipes. We enjoyed our time!

I really enjoyed the food shopping at the market and then we prepared it. Truly a farm to table concept. Our classes had both meat and fish so we went to both market areas. The produce and the desserts were also bought at the market. Our group enjoyed the wine as we cooked ate the meal.

The cooking class was the second best thing I did in Chile (the first one was hiking the Villarica Volcano). That means it was AWESOME! :) It was all about local experience in going to the market, buying what we would cook one hour later. Everything was clean in the kitchen and Caro and Rosiiiita helped us to REALLY cook... More
