Quinta Normal is a park for all ages and quite large enough for almost any activity. My end-of-austral-summer visit had perfect weather (80s sunny, no clouds) and the entire park was crowded with individuals and families enjoying the summer. Frolicking kids in the open fountain/pools, places to walk, an old train museum (small admission fee required), promenades, places for picnics,... More

Clean, well maintained park located west of downtown Santiago. There is a lagoon with swans and paddleboat rental. There are numerous museums in the vicinity, including an outdoor train museum, Museo Ferroviario, which is worth seeing. I was here in the early evening and the fountains were lit up in different colours. Directions: Take the subway to Quinta Normal (line... More

A nice spacious park with plenty of areas to sit around. Easy to get to as there is a metro station next to it. The Natural History museum was a bit ordinary but my favourite was the train museum set in its own park area. The Museum of Human Rights is next to the metro too. Worth visiting.

This is a perfect city escape. The metro drops you off right at the park. There are paddleboats you can rent, the natural history museum (A great overview of Chile), and the train museum is also really nice, inexpensive and perfect for kids.

Accessible from the subway stop Quinta Normal. Of the several museums in this park, we visited three. We liked best the Museo Ferroviario, which has a good collection of railroad steam engines and related items. One can walk through one of the carriages. The Artequin museum is housed in an Art Nouveau building brought from a Paris exposition. It contains... More
