Just across the street (Alameda), with wooden floors. We were delighted to see the ceiling and the altars. On one side is the Colonial Museum. I thanked San Antonio de Padua for letting us visit Santiago More

I have always found this church to be intersting. The fascinating part is that it is quite large and made of adobe. Even so, it has withstood centuries of earthquakes. The church is almost as old as Santiago itself. One of the few churches I have seen that is red. More

We enjoyed this church, particularly because we arrived just before Mass and enjoyed sharing this celebration with the small, weekday congregation. I loved the atmosphere in this church. You could see all the stones and sense the love with which it was originally built. Probably not a great place to be in an earthquake but for everyone who loves old buildings this should not be missed. More
