Plaza de Armas is a bustling center-city slice of every day life. Locals of all types find time to sit and relax on the many benches at all hours of the day. An artists row in one corner offers the chance to watch painters in action and to browse & buy their works. Some street entertainers put on impromptu shows.... more

In my opinion, the Plaza de Armas is the heart of Santiago. I have been to Chile three times and this is where I feel the most connected to the Chilean experience. In the Plaza you find a beautiful park and benches with the expected pigeons. Artists sell their paintings and folkloric dancers dance for tips. The Plaza is especially... more
