Quite an adventure and a great 'short' tour if you are in Stanley on a ship for a day. The whole trip is an experience! From driving by minivan from the port past the landmine fields to going on the 4 x 4 vehicles, to walking around the penguins. Beautiful setting and amazing to interact with the penguins. Afterwards you... More

The weather held for our Holland America visit to the Falklands and the excursion to Bluff Cove was such a great experience. Our part time radio DJ guide was both entertaining and informative. Our wonderfully eccentric driver of the antler bedecked 4X4 who sported teeth (his own and his daughter's) on his hatband talked about all the places to see... More

Signs of humanity are few beyond the city limits of Port Stanley. The gravel "highway" is one of them, but it does not take you all the way to Bluff Cove Lagoon. To get there, you must traverse several miles of empty peat bog in a Land Rover. Thankfully, you don't need to drive it yourself. The ranch that owns... More

Although this visit can be challenging because of the rough terrain to get there, it is the best naturel place to watch penguins at leisure. The small museum and charming café held by the ladies of the island is nice and educative. Smiles and information but mostly the observation of a variety of penguins from the Royal to the Gentoo.... To get to Bluff Cove, a 4x4 ride over some rough terrain is required. The drivers were very experienced and took it slow. The vehicle we were in was a Range Rover, and it was very comfortable on the bumpy ride. The area is private land. The only way to get there over land is through an organized tour. We... More

The Azamara Journey cruise ship visited Port Stanley January 2015. We did a shore excursion to Bluff Cove which was organised by the ship. This was a standard tour offered by the Island. We travelled off road across rough peat territory in 4x4 convoys. It was well worth the trip. We saw a huge number of Gentoo Penguins and were... More

This was definitely a good trip to take in Port Stanley in the Falklands. About half of the trip is off-road in a very bouncy 4x4 - yes they say they have gotten stuck, but they generally travel in groups to be able to help each other out. Both the drivers and the "guides" at the rookery are very knowledgeable,... More

Bluff Cove Lagoon Penguin Tours has been well reviewed, but anything this well done deserves additional praise! The drive to and from Bluff Cove was an adventure, the drivers were well informed and great fun, and the Gentoo and King penguins were magnificent. The wind BLEW, it rained, and it sleeted - but we loved every minute! Why are you... More

We took this trip as a shore excursion from the Zaandam and were so glad we did. The trip there was an unforgettable adventure in itself. We saw thousands of penguins, gentoo, magellenic and king penguins. Beautiful cove, lovely beach, the wind and waves were wild and the air was thick with spray. Take some warm clothing. A bonus is...
