The Omni-Theatre is an observatory and IMAX film theatre located in the Science Centre, Singapore in the city-state Singapore, South-east Asia. It opened in 1977. As part of the larger Science Centre, it specifically encompasses an observatory, an omni planetarium, and an OMNIMAX Projection System to show movies relating to science, astronomy, etc. The theatre consists of a massive hemispheric... We (2 adults, 3 kids) saw an Omni Max movie on Polar Bears in the Arctic. The viewing experience was spectacular. Audio quality and seats were very good too. The smell of food brought in by other viewers was a bit of a distraction (allowing food in probably needs to be stopped by the management - it's a 40 minute... More

Forget IMAX. This is still the biggest screen and visual feast in Singapore since I was a kid over 20 years ago. It used to be free seating, but they have improved on the system by having allocated seats these days. No more long queues at the entrance caused by people trying to get the seats They seem to show... More

The Omni-Theatre is Singapore's only IMAX dome theatre. At around 5 stories in height, it is also Asia's largest dome screen. The Omni-Theatre screens educational films, spanning genres in science, nature, space, animals, marine life, culture, history, natural disasters and more. Films at the Omni-Theatre are screened on a rotational basis, with 1 film every hour. There is a maximum... More

The Omni theater has shows exclusively which are more of educational types or documentaries. They are of a 40 minute duration and are good to watch. The topics are various and you could check them on their website or inquire in advance once you are there. The theater is almost all empty on most of the days and it shouldn't... More

Good science-based shows and not as crowded as when it first started, unless a school group is also there. Large IMAX screen makes for good, breathtaking viewing. Caution if you suffer from motion sickness though.
